Hi, I am in the process of installing a new kitchen. I was recommended to buy Smeg appliances- an oven and ceramic hotplate by a salesperson stating they are very good aplliances, however another salesperson from another retailer told me they would last only up to 6 years with normal household use. Is this true

From experience I have found Smeg appliances to be very reliable.

It is difficult to judge reliability of appliances but generally these days NO appliance will last without some form of brake down. They are not made to the same quality as appliances of a few years ago.
If you stick to german made appliances (Bosch, Neff, inc Smeg ) then they tend to be built to a higher spec.

Where can I purchase a new door for my smeg oven. SSA91MFP1 sn 80929 1812. The glass shuttered.

Hello Corlia;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service appliance technician in the USA.

I do not know what country you are in, so go into your computer search engine and search, "Smeg Oven Parts SSA91MFP1".

To purchase an entire oven door will be expensive. Just purchase to glass and install it yourself.

How to switch on oven westinghouse kimberly 509

If the oven does not work on bake or broil settings then there has to be a problem with the circuit, either on the control board or the thermostat. If only the bake element does not work then the element itself most likely needs to be replaced. There are ways to isolate further but takes some basic electrical knowledge and tools. Note that I am not recommending that you do the following linked procedure - merely pointing out an information source. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZNyEqXCNOA

Yes i have a westinghouse ppl776 ceramic cooktop and can not regulate temperature on any control knobs ,plates run flatout, is the problem with the control knobs or hotplates

When this occurs the problem is always with the hotplate controllers. Has this happened to all hotplates at the same time or has it occurred over a certain time period?

Need a wiring diagram for a Smeg Oven SA392EB

I don't know about Smeg, but major appliance manufacturers in the United States generally put a wiring diagram inside the back of the oven, usually either on the back cover or on the back panel of the oven itself. In laundry equipment, sometimes it's folded up or placed in an envelope inside the control panel, but I suspect that would not be the case for stoves because there would be a greater risk of fire.

Hotplate on ceramic cooktop not working, another won't turn down.

If 1 of the plates is not working at all, then it is going to be the plate itself, or a faulty regulator, you will have to take it apart to check the plate.
The other plate that you cannot control, needs the regulator replacing.

Smoke come up from bottom of 3-month new smeg oven SA702X when try to heat up

Hi.

Smoke coming from the oven is not normal. Ensure that the smoke is not vapour coming from the food inside the oven.

If there is vapour coming from the hinge area, then ensure that door and hinges are installed properly.

If you get smoke from the oven, try cleaning the oven cavity, follow the instructions on manual to clean the oven.

If after cleaning the oven, there is still smoke coming from the bottom side, then call Smeg and have the oven replaced. There is one or two years warranty on the appliance.
Smeg support and service phone number is listed in the oven manual.

Regards.

Lots of water/condensate ends up on bottom of oven

I have the same problem with my new Smeg oven. I try to avoid using the oven at the moment because of the amount of condensation I have to mop up each time I use it, even the floor get wet!. Smeg have said they will replace it but I am now looking for an oven that will fit into the 'whole' the oven will leave in my newly renovated kitchen. I wish I had never ventured near to SMEG. I would never recomend Smeg to friends, quite the opposite.

Smeg oven

This tutorial will show you how to check your Smeg element and how to replace your Smeg cooker element.
Here are the 3 main faults to look for in your oven or cooker that is not heating
  1. Your oven will not work until the clock/timer has been re-set after replacing an oven element or tripping the electrical supply. Consult your Smeg manual.
  2. If you're Oven is not getting hot or heating up it could be a faulty element, if the fan in the oven is running and the thermostat light is on, this will lead us to believe that the element has gone faulty. With grills the thermostat light should come on there should be heat, if not then this could be the grill element or the thermostat.
  3. When you turn the oven on, the household electrical supply trips on the Rcd (this is the earth trip in the fuse board sometimes called the breaker tripping) your fan oven element has gone to earth and needs replacing.

Oven smoking

I am pretty sure this is just the steam escaping. Smeg ovens seal so evenly that the steam stays in the oven.
