My Xerox Phaser 7760DN is printing skewed/crooked from my tray 5. It doesn't matter from what software I'm printing or the number of pages. The first page is a crooked as the 100th page. I've changed paper, I just put in new imaging units, checked the rollers, etc. Print jobs from all other trays are fine. Unfortunately, I have to print about 7,000 sheets (newsletter) coming up soon and I need to get this fixed. Help!
Try cleaning the take-away rollers inside lower left door (door C). These are the long black rollers on the frame. Also try pushing in on the outer edges of door C while printing to see if this makes any difference. If so, you may need to replace door C. Hope this helps!
Be careful with rubbing alcohol on rubber it can dry it out and make it crack and then you'll really get a lot of slipping.
Use a little rubbing alcohol to clean the roller for that tray and any rubber part in the area like a "separation pad"
this is a classic symptom of roller/feeding problems
hope this helps

I agree that alcohol will dry out rubber parts but only if you do it excessively, can you switch rollers from the other trays? clearly the paper path is ok concerning drum, fuser and such, so it's happening from the pickup roller up to the drum, somewhere in between there but before the other trays.

Thanks for the suggestion but I tried that, too. I even switched the positions of the specific rollers but to no avail.
Unfortunately, you can't switch the trays around. It's interesting with this problem because even though it's printing crooked, I'm not experiencing any paper jams or misfeeds of any type.
I tried your suggestion of only partially filling the tray. It didn't make a difference. I checked the cables that lift the tray and they seemed fine, too. I guess I should probably just call in the Xerox repair guy. I hat to do it, though.
