My son was moving his WS-55517 and during cabinet

My son was moving his Mitsubishi WS-55517 rear projection TV and during cabinet separation he failed to disconnect the mating cables. This resulted in destroying the cable with the shielded case that contains four wires. The connector was pulled from the lower cable. This cable connects to the lower electronics and looks like a USB to firewire cable and is about 30 inchs long. Note...it is not a USB cable, but looks similar.

Can a replacement cable be purchased and is so, what is the part number and where can it be purchased?

I believe I can solder the four wires back to the connector, but I have no idea what the pin-to-pin connections are. What is the pin to pin wiring?

You better take this TV to the Hospital. A local tech will be able to explain to you what needs done. This is the best solution, as you can certainly make things worse.......And its safer!!!!

RELENTLESS SNOW

You shouldn't have to have the tv to channel 3 or any other for that matter if you are in component. You need to make sure the tv is on the component input from your display menu that can be accessed from your remote.

How do i disassemble my ws-65313 for transport

Good Day,
To disassemble this TV follow these directions:
1). Pull front speaker grill off
2). Unplug the 2 cables connectors in front
3). Remove 4 screws on both sides of cabinet (might have plastic covers)
4). Carefully lift cabinet top until the support tabs clear the bottom cabinet
5). Carefully rotate the cabinet top and place back side on floor ( the mirror is on the top side)
6). Pack/wrap properly with blankets and transport in this manner.

Good Luck and Move, Big Irish.

Is there any way to split the tv in two pieces for

I do not see any way to divide main wooden box of TV as you can remove front screen and back cover of TV but main cabinet of TV still remain the same.
Check below exploded views of WS-65313 for better explanation.
Thanks.

Shuts off after 15 minutes

Most likely you have picture tube coolant leakage on the power board. Have an authorized Mitsubishi service shop take a close look.

Cabinet removal

Unfortunatly no there isnt. The tv bottom contains all the circuits, color guns, speakers. From where the bottom of the screen starts to the top is all part of the entire cabinet which is molded plastic. The top part contains a mirror and the screen you see as well as possibly a remote sensor. Short of sawing it in half and tossing it away you could take it apart but this would have to be done completely to gain you the most space and could be dangerous considering the high voltage transformer that the unit uses to power the color guns.
