Won't dispense solution

I used the upholstery attachment, and it worked fine. I converted to clean my carpet, and the solution will not dispense. I've owned this for a long time and know how to use it, but can't figure this out. My tanks are secured properly.

I took the handle off, and the plastic post had become disconnected from the trigger. With the help of a flashlight and a lot of patience, I got it hooked back on, and reassembled the handle. It worked beautifully then.

Thanks for the cleaning tips. I'll keep them in mind.

My trigger isn't depressing rod enough to engage the spray. I took the handle off, and the rod is connected to the trigger and to the lower rod, but there isn't enough oomph to engage the spray. It worked fine last time I used it and the unit's been sitting in the garage since. Can't imagine what would have happened.

Check the filter inside the dirty water tank. If it is pushed all of the way to the top, then it won't spray or suck. Also if this has the type of hose that has a block attached to it, when you removed the hose, did you put the other block back in place. Check the seal that the solution tank sits on.

Where is the belt located on my hoover steam shampoer

There is probably not a belt. The brushes on the carpet cleaner head and attachments work from air and there is a roller bearing deep inside that will wear out and the brushes won't turn. I've found no way to fix this. I consider it a design defect.

Instructions on how to put attachments on hoover steamvac to clean upholstery

Remove solution tank.
Remove hose from storage rack.
Remove recovery tank and lay cleaner flat on floor. Remove lid,
Now, remove front panel from recovery tank by sliding it straight up.
Take your hose and slide the U-shaped end (converter) into the place where you removed the panel. Slide halfway down opening until it is firmly in place.
2nd step: You should have a tube with a "plug" on it hanging from the converter end. Open door on hoodl abeled "Stair upholstery/Cleaning Connection". Extend black tabs by pulling tan collar toward tube. Press connector collar down firmly to ensure that it is fully connnected.
It's sort of like a childproofed plug and socket. Pull back on the collar and push in the olug. Not hard at all once you've done it the first time.
Make sure you put the lid on the recovery tank correctly so you have suction. Attach whatever brush you want to use on the other end until the tab locks into place.
Sometimes you have to bleed the air from the line by turning on the cleeaner and letting it **** against your hand or hard surface for 15 seconds before its ready to use. This gets the solution to flow to the tool.
Good luck!

How do I attach upholstery parts?

Remove the main head and put on the air guard.
Take of the bag assembly and attach the hose.
Mix up the solution in the "Suds o gun".
Attach this to the end of the hose.
When you switch on, foam will dispense from the gun.
Gently sponge this into the furniture.

Cleaning uphoustry

Furniture cleaning isn't a science: try out a few techniques before choosing the one that is right for your belongings. This step-by-step guide explains how to clean a sofa:
  1. Before using any upholstery cleaning products, vacuum the sofa or chair first to remove as much surface dirt and dust as possible. Be sure to use the correct attachments to avoid damage to the material - a soft brush attachment is ideal.
  1. Spot Clean. Using baby wipes or vinegar poured onto a strong microfiber cloth, apply to any obvious stains, wiping gently as you go. Remember to test the upholstery cleaning products on an inconspicuous area first.
  1. Overall Clean. Using soapy water and a microfibre cloth, gently wipe your sofa with the solution, allowing it to soak into the fabric and tackle the dirt beneath the surface. You only want to use a very small amount of water - don't saturate the material.
  1. Dry. Some people use a hairdryer to quickly dry a sofa, but allowing it to dry naturally is always the better option, if you have the time. To speed things up, open windows and allow the breeze to help with the drying process.
