Canon DC210 camcorder

HELP, Got this camcorder for christmas .Well so much for wasting my time and money on this camcorder. The salesperson also sold me Memorex Mini DVD+RW along with the camcorder.Well X-mas was not caught on tapes. The camcorder does not read the disc's.And it seems that i'm not alone in this nightmare. I bought this Canon because of the name brand and now i'm really sorry i did.I've spent almost $400.00 total for a camcorder that doesn't even work. So please if someone can help me with this problem............................unhappy vermonter

Thank you .funny how the zipper head guy who sold me the wrong mini dvd+rw also worked at a BestBuy .And after spending over $800.00 there they would not allow me to return the dvd's in exchange for the right one's.So BestBuy is not the way to go for me anymore.

The DC210 will only work with with Mini DVD -R or -RW. I had the same problem when the BestBuy salesman sold me +RW Mini DVD with the DC210. I went back to the store and got them changed for +RW and I was then able to use the DC210.

How to copy from CANON DC210 DVD Camcorder to PC

Before you can transfer pictures or video from your Canon DC210 to your PC you need to finalise the disc in the camcorder.

You also need to make sure that the DVD drive on your PC is capable of reading a DVD-R, DVD-R DL or DVD-RW format as these are the only disk formats that the DC210 will handle. Not all PC DVD drives can read these formats.

To finalise the disk you must have the power adapter connected to the camera, plugged into a wall socket and turned on. Then, switch on the camera, put it into playback mode, Press 'Func.', select main menu, select 'disk operations', select 'finalise'. Don't move or shake the camera or switch it off whilst the finalising step is underway - this could cause problems.

Once finalising is complete, put the disk into the PC.

Good Luck.

Canon dc210

It sounds like you may have a faulty battery or charger.

Take the extra battery and whatever you used to charge it (camcorder or battery charger) back to the shop where you bought it and get them to help you figure out what's wrong with their product. Your purchase is still under warranty and you deserve to have a product that works.
