My dish dvr remote only works on satellite from zero inches away from reciever. The remote works on the tv from 20 feet away. Have tried wiggling the antenna, etc. Any other ideas?

Hi pappy63my name is Mike Houston of DISH Network and there are some steps that will getyour DISH Network remote to change the satellite channels. The first thing youwill need to do is press the System Info button on the receiver or pull out thesmart card from the receiver, with the remote press and release the SAT buttonand press the Record button and you will see the number in the white boxchange. You have indicated that you have a 622 DVR receiver, since this is where your posting was found. When you trying any of the DVR functions on the remote, do you get an error message (024 or 311) indicating that the function is not available at this time? If not, try unplugging the receiver for 10 seconds from the electrical outlet. This will reboot the receiver and re-acquire the satellite signal. Once the picture returns, try the DVR function. If the problem continues, please call 1-800-333-3474; we may need to replace the receiver. I hope this helps.

It sounds like you have interference, try removing the uhf ant from the back of rec and promgram it straight from there. you can also hookup "bunny ears or a pigtail coax to the uhf ant port to increse uhf signal. also make sure the uhf ant is standing straight up.

The problem for me was the TV giving off IR signals that interfered with DISH's poorly designed remote. When the TV's room ambient light sensor was turned on and it became dusk outside the DISH remote would stop working. Moving the receiver away from the TV helps but the problem is not eliminated until the light sensor is turned off.
Until DISH corrects this poor design there may be no other viable solution.

First the only way the 6.3 will work is if it has the green number 1 on the tab facing you. Assuming this is the case you will need a new remote. This primarily is the remote for the second room away from the receiver. Thanks for using Fix Ya.

it is multi sat multi sat compatable!My opinion is buy a powerd multi switch you can getem at radio shack or from a sat dealer that will clear p your prolem i belive also check all your rg6 coax ends u may have a a bad splice or a fraid shiel wich will make your reciever do the same thing but hope you can fix it
