Tosh A200 Vista Home Basic doesn't recognise TZ3

Running Toshiba A200 with Vista Home Basic. When I plug my TZ3 into a USB port it is not recognised by the computer. Message comes up saying that computer needs software installed. Surely the necessary USB drivers are already in Vista. Is this a problem related to security settings? Can anybody help?

Thanks
John

I recently received an email from Toshiba Suppoprt which advised that there was a very recent Windows Update that addressed this problem. If you update your Vista OS withWindows Update you should find the problem is resolved, as I did.

I had the same problem but found that my computer had a slot for the SD card so I could download the photos either through Windows or through the Photoviewer software.

My PC (or friends) doesn't recognise my Databank usb2.0 64GB flash

Try the stick in another device and report back if you can read and write to the stick on that device.

Plug other USB things into that port to see if the port is good.

Although rare, some USB things allow themselves to be inserted backwards.

I purchased a Belkin 4 port USB hub today and connected my Seagate external hard drive. Unfortunately my computer, Toshiba Satellite L655D, doesn't recognise the hard drive when located within the...

This is likely due to power consumption, if a hub doesn't have it's own power adapter, then it is drawing bus power from your computer, and will not have enough power to drive larger devices.

I want toshiba c9/214ldew manual

I can't directly help you - you have to do this yourself- GO TO http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/generic/SUPPORT_PORTAL/ On your Tosh... Select AUTODETECT It should recognise your laptop and allow you to go to the Downloads pages where you should find the Manual. (and download drivers)
If your Tosh, is out of action and cannot update directly from the internet - you can download drivers to another computer and transfer them to your Tosh on an USB Stick

When I plug in the HDD16 into the USB my computer says devise is not recognised

Please clean the usb cable. Use a cotton swab with Alcohol on it. (Not dripping). You may need to use a few. If that fails to help, try another usb device in your PC & check if the PC can see that device. The cable could be defective. The FAT on the drive could have been damaged or the drives file system could be corrupt. The usb port could be loose from plugging in & out. If your OS is Vista that can be the problem. Try a Pc running XP.

USB port problems

Try going into the BIOS and see if the USB Ports are enabled. I don't know what type of system you have. When you turn on the pc it will prompt 'F1 to enter setup' or it might be F10. Do you have a USB mouse or keyboard? Try those in different ports.
