I tried connecting  my camera to my mac, and the camera goes into usb mode, but nothing pops up on my desktop... They not talking to each other! I heard about a setting on the camera that swithces it into usb mode to transfer data, but my camera doesn't have that.
What do i need to do?

Yeah, I repaired my permissions about 3 days ago, and ran disk warrior. I'm running tiger at the moment.

I'm having the same problem. But, in my instance the computer (OS 10.10.2) won't even recognize the DVD/Software either. I'm thinking it may have something to do with the upgrade to Yosemite.

Cammedic, it didn't work. I've just loaded iPhoto and iPhoto can see the camera, but the thing is that the camera doesn't pop up on the desktop at all! But if i plug it in on a pc it finds the camera... Its weird!

I've had this happen before. By chance, Do you have a CD or DVD in your Mac? Eject any disk you might have in there and try the connection again.

Have you repaired disk permissions lately? The program is in the Applications folder in utilities. Disk tools, first aid tab.

My new gopro camera is not recognized by my mac when plugged in via usb...?

You need to push the POWER/MODE button once it is connected and the red charging light is on. It will then say "usb" and will show up on the desktop for you.

When I connect the camera the pics don't load

Does the camera show up on your desktop when you connect it? If so, just launch iPhoto. Inside iPhoto preferences, check the one that causes iPhoto to launch whenever you attach a camera, and you won't run into this behavior in the future. If the camera does not show up on your desktop, or in System Profile's USB column, then you have a bad USB cable or a bad USB port either on the camera or on your Mac.

Need assistance transferring video to imac

The Panasonic PV-GS12 will transfer video in video record mode and video playback mode using the DV connection (IEEE) Firewire port. PC Mode is restricted to memory card access via USB. If after connecting it in this manner if it does not work try this. With everything connected via firewire and iMovie running. switch the camera to PC mode and the import window should pop up. You may get a comunications error and if you do then switch to playback mode. The import window should stay open and you can control your camera with the iMovie controls.

I plug in my USB cable to my camera, and to my PowerBook G4 Mac. Nothing comes up. I try going to playback on my camera, and then plugging it in. It says:Easy print start, or pc/custom print. I don't know...

Make sure the camera is on and pc is selected on the camera screen when connected to the computer. You will need to have PC highlighted and select ok on the camera as this starts the camera and computer to communicate. Once communication established the LCD screen of the camera goes dark and the computer should generate a removable disk drive or Untitled Drive. The camera uses the driver usbstor.

Nikon coolpix s210 will not connect to mac

I have a Intel Mac Powerbook running OS10.5.8
On a coolpix 100, the default setting is that the camera is charged by the computer through the USB cable. You need switch that OFF.
While the camera still does not show as usb device, you can access it through the Nikon transfer program AND through iPhoto

Connection problem with Mac

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use iPhoto or any other photo cataloging program.

What's up with my camera

You will probably have to go into "My Computer" and find your camera in the "Devices with Removable Storage". It should be there, otherwise, try plugging it into a different USB jack on your computer, if you have one.

first, open Windows Explorer and then search for the drive letter that Windows has automatically selected to be your camera's memory card. If you cannot find it (remember to right mouse click over each letter to see a short description). Once found on Windows Explorer, double mouse click it and then search all camera memory folders for the video files. You can then right mouse click and copy each file and then past (rt. mouse click select paste from pop-up sub-menu) each file onto your pc hard drive.
