Inspiron 6000 - no back light. Problem occurs on

Inspiron 6000 - no back light. Can see the display if I look really closely, but backlight is off. Problem occurs on known good lcd, changed mobo, but same problem still exists. Only parts in common now are processor, heatseek, and cooling assembly. This has Intel integrated video. Can the processor cause this issue?

Blank Screen Display

if it is an lcd it could be the inverter to light up the backlight of the lcd thats faulty or it could be the harness to the lcd or the lcd itself

Hi i have a dull screen on my dell inspiron 6000. i have replaced the inverter and replaced the backlight but still dull. is there anything else i can do?

Maybe your problem was the Video Card. Did you try an external monitor before you replaced the inverter and backlight? Try an external monitor and if it does the same thing then the Video Card is bad.

My dell inspiron 6000 its display is very dark though its working.cause i can see my windows desktop.is thers something wrong with my lcd?

Sounds like the back light is bad. The display will have to be replaced because replacing the back light itself is very difficult and the bulb itself is extremely fragile. If you have tried turning up the brightness with you keyboard with no luck it's the backlight

I have a dell inspiron 6400 and im getting a black screen once the dell logo comes up and windows xp loads...I see no icons or nothing..just a black screen

it sounds like your display backlight has gone bad. If your handy you can get a new display. If you are really good you can replace the back light.

Dark screen ,fn does not work

I would suggest connecting the laptop to an external monitor, just to make sure that it is all running correctly.

If you can see a very dim image on the screen then the backlight is out. This can be a light problem or the inverter that powers the backlight could be bad. The inverter is not real dificult to change and also is not very expensive. If it is the backlight tho, it is easier to just change out the entire screen.

Hope this helps

The back light for the lcd display off

I would bet on a failed FL Inverter board which is the board that runs the backlight.

However, if your LCD is RED before it goes dark your backlight has failed. Given the age of the machine you will probably have to get parts from ebay.

If you can tell me the part number of the machine (on the serial number sticker) - I can look up what inverter or LCD you need - there are several different screens the 6000 series uses that are NOT cross compatible.
