Hi,
On your Audiovox ACC56 10-Disc CD Changer with a Prestige P-165/P-185 FM Modulator, the wires:
black - goes to the body (-) ground (as you correctly posted);
Green/white - (with a small filter box) goes to the constant/always on 12V supply such as the + terminal of your battery
Orange/White - should be connected to a switched power source such as the accessory terminal of your ignition switch or to the blue or yellow wire of your head unit or car stereo or whatever wire that will have 12V+ only when the head unit or car stereo is switched on.
Hope this be of some help to you. Post back how things turned up or should you need further information.
Good luck and kind regards.

i call these units "fm trap " there has to be a hole in the units box that has the power , groud and turn on wireing coming froim it , its seperate , and is around the size of a pack of cigarettes ,thats where the cars antenna goes into and one comes out to the radio , hole may be smaller if its a newer unit , antenna pins are much thinner than the older ones
yes if you will open up the unit and look on the circuit board that it connects to it is labeled plain as day what each plug is (b+, gnd..) find that out and thats how ya do it
make sure that all the cables are fully inserted to the cd changer and the modulator, also, the remote has a reset button press it, remove power all together including the memory line that will reset the player, if not you better contact the manufacturer's customer service, I had a similar problem with mine and the problem was caused by excessive vibration to the player, since it was under warranty I returned to the factory and they send me a new one, no more problems after that, that happenned 3 yrs ago, now days mine is drawing too much current and kills my car's battery after a week or so, I'm now using a 5 amp fused cigarrete lighter connector to power the player but only while the car is running every time it starts with disc one because the memory gets erased every time I plug it in, I do make sure to disconnect it 2 or 3 minutes before I turn off the engine
good luck
