New Pro Scan LCD TV "flashes"

I have a 2 month old Pro Scan LCD TV. The picture "flashes" from time to time and makes the picture crisper or softer. It does this on all channels and all media connected to the tv. It has done it from the beginning, but I have tried to adjust different settings to no avail. It is beginning to drive me crazy.

Some LCD TV's have their own filter to improve image quality, this may be what you are seeing.
see if you can look in the TV's menu for something like that and turn it off.

Hope this helps

I have an rca 61" dlp tv that is about 4 years

More than likely you have a power board that is failing. Since the TV is so old I doubt it is under warranty still. I estimate it would cost you anywhere between $300-400 to repair that problem so it may be time to switch to a newer LCD TV.

We have an old TVwhose picture cuts out every 5mins or so

Not a picture tube problem. Re tune the the TV by auto search or manual tuning.

Store your favorites later in your way.

No Picture on LG Tv. it is only 3 months old. I

The flashing may indicate a failed power supply. Or a bad backlight tube.

Only 3 months old? Any warranty?

Considering its age I would say a defective part or poor assembly is to blame.

Vivitek tv

I have a 56" model that I have had a similar problem. My bulb burned out in <90 days. Warranty was 90 days on the bulb itself. When the TV picture goes out, the indicator LEDS blink on and off.

Here is what you have to determine:

1) First cover the left LED with a piece of paper so that you can't see it blinking. I don't know if your layout is the same as my TV. You may have to switch the paper blocking the LED.

2) Pay attention to the other LED and READ its' flashing code. In my case, the code was 2-3. It would flash 2 times, pause briefly, then flash 3 times. This meant code 23. That indicated the bulb was burned out.

3) If you look in the manual, It does have a code list of some sorts to tell you of the codes and their meanings. Hope this helps.
