My Sony KP-53S25 tv started to have a problem with the red projector. The problem is a misalignment of the red projector on the entire right side of the tv. The left side of the tv looks fine. It seems the "scale" of the red is lover than it should be and needs to be stretched a little (about 2 inches on the tv) It started to happen once in a while and could be fixed by turning the tv on and off. It is permanent now and will not go away. I had the tv fixed a few years ago and believe I can see the new style board on the side of the red projector tube. Messed with the alignment on the red tube and could not fix the problem.
My question is what would the problem be, and roughly how much to fix it?
Any input would be appreciated.
Scroft, I'm new at this forum, but your problem sounds like mine, some guys here sugget me to replace the convergence IC's, I just ordered them and I should get them by tomorrow or Monday at the latest, you might wanna go that route. But first, please try to adjust the convergence on from the TV's menu, I hope is just a little adjustment, otherwise you will have to replace those 2 IC's,

I just put the tv back together and put it back against the wall. Still worked but had the color misalignment. Watched it for a while and changed the channel. Lost all picture, but still has sound. Any ideas... or just get a new tv??
