Perhaps there is a stuck key, or a function enabled, such as DND, you could check by unplugging the phone, press and release every key to see if one sticks, then plug phone back in and wait for it to perform self test with switch unit, here is link to user manual

Tail lights

It sounds like a problem in the main harness.
The brake lights are on the same circuit as the turn signals and hazards, but the parking lights and backup lights are on different ones. So the only thing connecting all three is the ground circuit. The tail lights use a printed circuit board in the lamp assembly that could have problems, but not usually for both sides at the same time.
All you can do is use a test light or meter and trace the circuits from the light bulbs back to the firewall and see where the power is stopping.

Wall light switch timer inline with Extension cord GE 15313

Black to black (hot), Green to green (ground) and the only one left is of course white to blue. The (neutral) white wire can be many different flavors (blue, red, orange, brown, etc.).

If the outlet your plugging into (or controlled by the service panel breaker) is 15 Amps use a minimum of 14 gage wire (or 12 gage is even better), if its a 20 Amp outlet use 12 gage wires (or 10 gage). Don't use a 16 or 18 gage wire because it may get hot and start a fire because its undersize for the Amps.

Utilitech #73189 installation

Utilitec 73189 is ordinary 120Volt fluorescent light.
Where are you installing this light?
Are you wanting to hardwire this light so it connects directly to a switch?

Does the light have a plug-in cord?
Or do you want instructions how to wire a plug-in cord to the light? And then install small rotary line switch on the cord.

I would buy a cheap extension cord that already has ends. And buy rotary line switch that fits the cord.
Then cut off one end of extension cord so it will plug into outlet.
Install the line switch onto the cord.
Connect the cut-end of extension cord to light fixture, black-to-black white-to-white-green-to-green.

Add a comment and include more detail.

How do I put a light switch on a extetion cord

You want a light switch on extension cord.
What kind of light switch do you have? You posted under GFCI device which is totally different than ordinary wall switch.
And what type of extension cord?
Add a comment with more information.

If ordinary light switch is installed on 3-wire outdoor extension cord:
Slice open the side of cord and you see 3 wires: black, white and green.
Cut the black wire in half and connect each end to brass screw on light switch.

If ordinary light switch is install on indoor 2-wire extension cord.
Look at plug and notice there is a wide blade and narrow blade.
Narrow blade is hot. You want the wire connected to narrow blade.
Cut that wire in half, but do not cut other wire.
Connect each end of wire to brass screw on light switch

If you want to install line switch onto indoor 2-wire extension cord:
Narrow blade is connected to hot wire.
Cut that wire in half, but do not cut other wire.
Open line switch.
Connect each end of black wire to brass screw. OR if no screws, then place cut wire in open grooves.
Tuck other wire into groove and then reassemble switch.

Runs 3-5 seconds and then the breaker trips

The problem could be caused by one of several issues.

  • Cold compressor
  • Extension cord
  • To main items using the same circuit as the compressor
  • Faulty unloader valve.
First one's easy. Depending on where you live if it's cold it means the compressor's oil is cold also. I need to place a small space heater near my compressor to warm it up or the same thing happens to me.

Another issue is the use of an extension cord. Normally Air compressor manuals warm against you using any extension cord. They recommend using a longer air line instead. If you must use one you need to over due it on the size or gauge of wire used. The best place to get good grade cord is from boat supply shops. Ask for shore power supply line. Even using this you should still limit it to no more the 20 feet.

How about you circuit you are using? Air compressors should be on a dedicated circuit. Even though you may have a smaller compressor you should consider creating a dedicated circuit for it. Even small compressors draw a lot of power.

The unloader valve is what bleeds the pressure that remains in the cylinder head and line all the way to the tank check valve. If this fails to bleed off this pressure then when your compressor starts it can be working against as much psi as the max. To check this simply bleed off all the tank pressure using either the water purge at the bottom or the safety relief valve. You may also need to loosen the line coming off the pump manifold to the tank check valve. Just enough to bleed off any exes psi. Now try it. Let it run through a complete cycle. If the problem repeats you may need a new unloader valve.

If you live in colder climate.

My personal guess is that your compressor is just too cold. Compressor oil is normally straight 30 weight. It has no ability to increase it's viscosity during the winter. So bring it inside or place a spae heater hext to it for 10 to 15 minutes. Then give it a try. Once you start using it it will be fine again until it set out in the cold to long without being used.

Do you have a dog? If so just move it in to his house and tell him it's for guard duty. Say it with a straight face or he will wiz on it as soon as your back is turned. ":-}
Hope this helps and "Happy (fill in you personal preference here)" To you and your.

Let me know if you have any more trouble with it.

How is float switch testing and troubleshooting ?

I use a float switch to automatically top off the water in my fishtank.  the best method I can suggest for testing the unit is to get an extension cord that you are comfortable with cutting.  Cut one of the 2 wires of the extension cord, and put the float switch in-line on this one cut wire.  Be sure to use wire nuts or something that can cover up the exposed connections where the float switch connects to the extension cord.  Once everything is buttoned up, plug the extension cord into an outlet and plug a small device which does not require much power into the other end of the extension cord, a small nightlight or something would work great.  Now move the float up and down on it's shaft to see if the connection is established to power the device.  This is essentially the same configuration that I use for my fish tank topoff and the deivce at the end of the extension cord is a pump which sits in a rubbermaid full of water.  Works great!!  Hope this helps.

Light comes on

First, it is normal for the line 1 light to quickly flash once every hour or so while it scans all of the phones. If the light is staying on though then this is a problem.

Look at all of the phones. All will show a RED light except for one that will have a GREEN light lit up for line 1. The green lighted on line 1 means that this is the phone that believes it has the right to use the line. When one phone uses the line all of the others are given a signal through a sub carrier of line one to light up in the color red.

I would suspect that the problem phone is a wall phone unit. This is because the switch on this phone is fighting the weight of the receiver versus gravity. There is not much tolerance in these switches as you will notice if you gently put your finger on the receiver at the top of a wall hanging phone.

If it is a wall phone unit causing this problem you can do 1 of 3 things.
1- you can switch this phone to a desktop so gravity is not working against you but for you.
2 - you can put an ugly looking spacer on the button so it pushes in farther.
3- you can try to perform inside surgery on the phone to adjust the tension of the spring on this button.

New Message Light won't stop flashing

Don't know about other models, but I just called RCA small business phone support (800-511-3180) to find out how to clear the message light indicator on my 25210 2-line cordless phone when it continues to blink but there is no message.

All you have to do is hold down the delete button for a few seconds and it will clear. Hope this helps someone else from going batty!

Wireless phone extension not working on receiver. Red light and horrible sound hen connection is attempted

You need to register the unit it will work:
Make sure the Base Unit is switched on and has a Green light showing.
2. Unplug everything connected to the Base Unit sockets (you will reconnect them later).
3. Plug the Extension Unit into a power point near the Base Unit, switch on the power and watch the light on the Extension Unit.
4. If the light on the Extension Unit is not glowing a steady Red then the Extension Unit must first be deregistered. Follow Step A and Step B in
the Deregistering an Extension Unit box below then try to register the Extension Unit again.
5. Plug one end of a supplied line cord into to either socket on the Base Unit and plug the other end into the extra Extension Unit
(This cord is used to do the actual registering).
6. The light on the Extension Unit will glow Red for up to a minute and then change to Green or Yellow.
7. Once you have the Green or Yellow light on the Extension Unit, unplug the line cord between the Base Unit and the Extension Unit
(You can unplug the Extension Unit – it will remember being registered).
8. Plug in everything that used to be connected to the Base Unit sockets.
9. Install the extra Extension Unit as per the Extension Unit Installation steps on the other side of this page.

No Light to show off hook

Start by going to the phones that need to have the button fixed.
[Program], [9][9], [Button] (you should see an incorrect ext number), [2], [Correct ext number] and [Store]
You may need to repeat this at all phones that need the corrected light.
