Take your truck to dealer and have them enable keyless entry if your truck is equipped with it,or one other thing is to check your owners manual to see how to reprogam the units when batteries are replaced

2001 ford explorer sport, door keypad reset

How to find the Security Keyless Keypad Code on the 1995-2001 Ford Explorer or Mountaineer and how to use the Keypad functions. The factory code is also printed on a label which is installed on the Remote Anti-theft Personality (RAP) Module. This is the module that controls the keyless entry system. It is located in the left rear quarter behind the removable panel (see photo). You will need to turn the two thumb screws counter clockwise and take the plastic panel off to be able to see the unit. A flashlight may be helpful in seeing the code. You are looking for the module and the 5 digit code on it like the one shown below.

Now that you’ve got the code I’ll tell you how to use the Keyless entry and set-up your own code.Make sure when pressing the controls on the keyless entry keypad you press the middle of the buttons to ensure good contact with the controls.

Check this for Programing the Keypad.

Cost of redoing keyless entry

If you need to purchase new remotes, it would be around $120-140 depending upon the labor rate at the dealership. If you already have the remotes and just need them programmed, it can be done for under $75 as it will only take about half an hour at the dealership.

1198 Dodge Ram Pickup

it sounds like you may have an aftermarket alarm system. it can be removed completely from the vehicle. if it is a factory system the key fob or unlocking the door wit the key should disarm the system. if they dont you may want to have a dealer or reputable shop check the system

1998 dodge 1500 4x4 pickup radio

remove the unit and check your wiring harness dodge uses a two part factory harness if the plug with all the speaker outputs came undone it would still turn on and function normal but you'd have no sound.

2001 Dodge Ram 1500 Keyless Entry/Security System

Your keyless/security system may have been damaged by the spikes. But, assuming you've already checked all the fuses, I would start by having the alternator tested. I would also check the alternator wire connection to the power distribution center (pdc). It can loosen and cause different problems.

Good Luck!
