Question about Sony FD Trinitron WEGA KV-36FS120 36" TV

1 Answer

The "Initial Set Up" Box continues popping up and will not go away despite auto programming

I have selected Auto Programming many times and it performs the function. When it is finished, the Box reappears on the TV screen with a request to Auto Program again. If I select "Exit" it immediately comes back on.

Do I set the GE timer # 15089 to Auto on or Auto off for it to be activated. I had it on Auto on however the light stayed on all the time.

I don't have repair for defective timer.
Open following link to identify timer and download manual:
http://waterheatertimer.org/GE-timers-and-manuals.html#15089

Timer should be set to Auto ON for timer programs to run.
Auto OFF is temporary override, and timer resumes schedule at next set point.
ON is always ON
OFF is always OFF

If timer is not operating as expected:
Test outlet for correct polarity and electrical problems using cheap circuit analyzer from hardware store.
Timer programs can have conflicts. Make schedule before setting timer so there are no overlaps that cause timer not to function as expected.
Current time has not been set. Set current time including current day.
Set button has been accidentally pushed, and a number or CTD appear in display.
Timer needs to be reset to clear conflicting programming or error. Push reset button with paperclip and try programming again.
Timer is not able to handle intended load. All timers work for incandescent bulb. Connect timer to incandescent lamp and see if problem continues.
Timer is defective. Buy another timer from Home Depot and return defect in new package.

Up channel and down channel doesn't work on TV or on remote.

Hello; I am John at J. D. Electronics, Poland Maine. This problem is very likely caused by channel programming has not been done yet. You must run cable TV directly into set and let the set do the auto programming. If you are using a " Cable Box " You can not auto program and must use the cable box remote.
