I have a knock off usb cable that attatches my phone to my pc....

You need to use the USB Sync Cable that should have come with your package.

You also need to install Microsoft Active Sync on your PC ; use the Getting Started Disc that came with your phone.

Once you install Active Sync then you can connect your phone to your PC with the USB cable. When the PC detects your device it will start the ActiveSync Synchronization Setup Wizard.

A USB cable driver is need to be installed for the USB cable to work and this driver comes with the cable itself. insert the cd, let the wizard open, click on install and follow the steps or after the wizard is open, click on the option for installing driver for USB cable. You would have got a Drivers CD with your Phillips USB phone. Place the drivers CD in your CD/DVD rom drive and when the CD window opens you will get a drivers folder or else install or setup file. double click on it the driver will start installing on your PC. In each window click next tab and atlast click at the finish tab. your usb driver phone will be installed with the normal settings. Atlast, if the installation wizard asks you to start the computer please restart it so as to ensure that your USB phone works accordingly. Then whenever you like to connect your USB phone to the PC just connect the USB cable of the phone to the USB port and then in your phone if it prompts any connectivity options select the connect PC option.

Install Nokia Pc Suite software on you PC and do not connect the USB connectivity cable before or during the Pc Suite installation. When the Nokia Pc Suite installation is finished, Nokia Pc Suite will automatically launch the Get Connected Wizard. The on screen instruction will guide you to connect the USB connectivity cable to your PC and to your Phone. The default connection setting will appear on your phone screen. Select Pc Suite.
Nokia Pc Suite will install the cable drivers. This installation may take a few moments and you may be asked to accept the multiple driver installation. Once your Nokia Pc Suite have been installed, you can connect to the internet using "One Touch Access"

you need to switch to the correct mode on the fone first (menu connectivity - usb connection)

just connect your unit to the pc by usb cable compatible to your unit, then the computer processing recognizing the unit plugged  and wizard pop up, if your pc have ready install driver it will automatically installing unit prompting wizard "the hardware is ready to use", goto my computer double click shows pop up windows  feature hard drive and other devices connected then by there you view the drive for your unit, double click just like opening folder and you can start.
if, however pc didn't recognize you have to do manually by going to control panel click add hardware then wizard will guide you and prepare for your cd installer for the driver, this comes with the product you purchased.

Plug in the USB cable. Use the LG Installation disk to install the driver.
if you do not have the driver search Google with these words " LG U8330 Driver Installation disk" and you will find it or you can download the driver here:

Remember after you install the driver open the LG Phone Manager
and click on open COM port. The correct COM port has a little * beside it.
E.G. *11 or *03 etc., etc. then click on CONNECT.

Go to Sony site and download the driver for your phone

Connect your phone to the computer with the cable and turn it on.
You might see "Found New Hardware" wizard. DON'T let Windows search for the driver; point it to the driver you just downloaded, and install the drive on your computer.
After the driver as installed you should be working 100%

Go to Sony site and download the driver for your phone

Use the connection wizard supplied with the software together with your USB cable an you should be good to go.
