E machine 4250 wont connect to wireless internet. My lap top is working from wireless.

We would need a LOT more information than that in order to assist.
What operating system do you have?
What laptop make/model? Some models have a button that actually turns off the wireless adapter...the problem is that it often looks like the ON button.
What type of wireless?
What have you tried?
Does it work when you physically wire it to the laptop?

If you have a wireless router and it is connected to the DSLor cable modem and Internet then -To connect to your wireless router, the router needsits wireless settings to be configured with the SSID, encryption key etc., alsothe wireless cards and wireless adapters in all the laptops/computers needs tobe configured with these router's wireless settings. Then the laptops/desktopcomputers can communicate with your wireless router and access the Internet via the DSLor cable modem.

First try doing a complete reset on your Router, and then give the wireless a new name and password. Do Not inter any old/same info. Start fresh

well to me i would have to find out the reason, i would deleted them or deactivate them, then try. now gonna give you a stupid thought but have to. is this a new lap top. if so does your maching come with a button or switch to activate the wireless network on machine. you take that from there

my opinion is to remove the possible cause from machine and try it , remember to reboot after removing any software or changes will not take effect

all that you need to do is to delete the preferred networks list from the computer,
and try to scan and connect to the network again....make sure that you are typing the correct security key.
still if the problem exixts, then add the network manually...the problem will get off for sure....
also if there is any facility like wi-fi protected security is enabled in the wireless router, go ahead and disable it...

Desk top to internet is OK.
How about Destop through Router connection to Internet OK?
Assuming you want to connect wireless from Lap top to Network, need to configure correctly for wireless in Router.
If you connect Lap top to router by wire and it didn't work that mean your router is bad.

You need free Dynamic DNS service from sites like NO-IP.com

the internet cable should be connected to the "Internet" or "WAN" port on the router. Your PC should be connected to one of the regular ports on the back of the router and your laptop can be connected just like the pc, or it can connect wirelessly.

Then you should be able to see the internet from your laptop.
