My lg42lcd has suddenly stopped producing sound when connected through ps3 hdmi.picture is fine but no sound.sky hd works fine through same socket.2 hdmi leads both work fine for sky but wont produce sound through ps3.picture and sound fine through scart so ps3 fine.have reset all tv settings and ps3 settings but still cant get sound through ps3.bought separate optical sound lead but still no sound.very confused, please help.thanks
I found this was the only thing to work....Go to sound settings, audio output settings, hdmi and instead of clicking automatic output click manual...I check every box under this settings and the sound came back...it say it might damage ur speakers but mines have been fine so far.
Open you ps3 then go to settings at home then click on the sound and then choose one then your ps3 turns off (no worry) then switch it on then play a game like fifa11 or any fifa then maybe sound comes out

Re: no sound through ps3 hdmi
Hmm.. Only HDMI socket one carries DVi, and that requires a seperate sound lead which goes into the 3.5mm jack input by the DVi input. I don't know about PS3's but my PC will only produce sound if connected to HDMi port 1 with Dvi sound to the jack. HDMi port two only carries sound through the HDMi cable.. which a Sky HD box produces. Try putting Sky through Port 2 and the PS3 through Port1 with Dvi sound. You never know, it might work ;o)

Ur tv some how causes HDMI 1 and 2 port hubs link together so changes back and fourth 1 or 2 HDMI hubs will not a difference.Ur tv have 4 HDMI hub ports wright?Tries not to used HDMI hub ports as like HDMI ports like 1,2,3,4 to as in sequences.Tries used like 1 and 4,2 and 4,3 and 1 as skips sequences might work for ur tv.Tries to hook up the PS3 system as the old format hook up same hook as PS2 format like used the PS station old RCA AV cable hook up.Then that should not causes conflict at all because now tv have two difference kind of format hook up.
1. Turn ON TV
2. Connect PS3 to TV HDMI input
3. select TV HDMI input for PS3
4. turn OFF PS3 if it is ON
5. Press and hold the [I/O]Power button until the PS3 until you get the "HDMI Detected" message.
Also, this TV has a circuit that deactivates the HDMI if the rear cover is removed. It is possible the HDMI may have been turned OFF. This is reset in the service menu of the TV.
i have the same dav dz260 and all my stuff works on mine. this is how i set it up i have conected y dz to the tv via scart and my sky and ps3 via hdmi cable. to get sound from sky and ps3 i conected a optical cable from the dz260 to the tv and when i want sound for sky or ps3 all i did was change the function on the dz260 to tv and the tv setting to the hdmi im using and hey presto sound hope it helps
I just finished setting up my system last night and was facing similar problems with sound/video from my PS3. The only option I could get working was to have the HDMI cable connected from the PS3 to the TV and then connect the Optical cable to the receiver for sound. I was under the impression that HDMI handles sound and video but for whatever reason the PS3 does not agree.
I have DTS sound and fantastic picture now through my PS3, hope this helps.
your setting for source of the audio is probably defaulted back to original setting in receiver. reassign audio input and problem may go away. it sounds like its not in the tv. i assume you have a receiver and are not trying to listen with speakers in tv. is this correct? if you are not using an amplifier, you may need to go to the tv menu to make sure the audio source is selected as the hdmi input. should take a bit to read thru the manual, but it ought to show you how to accomplish the correct settings. let me know if it does not. good luck mark
Connect the PS3 to your TV with the hdmi cable and to the surround sound system with a digital optical cable, then set your PS3 to output sound through the optical port (through the sound options menu) and you're good to go!
