Simple. easy. you have 3 screen adjustments. red green blue. turn color all the way down. you should then get just a black and white picture, but in your case, it will still be reddish. behind the speaker grill is an access panel for screen adjustment. remove speaker grill. remove access panel. you will see a block assembly roughly 6 inches square with 6 knobs on it. 3 are for screen, 3 are for focus. adjust until you have a black and white picture. then go into menu and turn your color back up. enjoy!

Red colour appearing on screen

Your tv could have one of several faults. None of which are to be tackled by anyone except a qualified engineer due to the electric shock hazard.the first problem could be the crt (tube) the second could be the componets on crt base circuit board ie resistors or ic.
With a tv 9 years old it may not be economical to carry out a reair.

No red

Losing one colour probably means failure of electronic components related to the particular colour. It is unlikely adjusting the red settings will fix the problem. Even if it did, the colour balance needs specialist equipment to properly set up.

Colours on the tv have become distorted particularly black which now has a reddish orange smeared appearance. Problem seems to get worse as the day goes on. Tv is only 7 months old.

The TV is getting magnetize, may be from speakers nearby or any other source. The degaussing circuitry is not functional.
If the TV is only 7 months old, I would say still under manufacturers warranty.
Call the place where you bought it and ask them for an authorize repair center to fix it.
