With those headsets that think is a known issue. If nothing happens when you hold down the answer button then the battery must be out (or the headset is faulty). If you tried to plug it into a USB on a PC to charge it, and the red light does not stay on then I'm afraid it became faulty. All you can do now is to get back to the retailer who sold it to you and get a replacement for it, or if the retailer cannot help you consider getting back to MadCatz requesting a replacement if it's still within warranty.
Try to charge it on a USB on the PC, If the red light doesn't stay on, meaning it's charging, then you have a faulty headset and you'll have to contact your retailer to ask for a replacement. Unfortunately this is a know issue with this headsets... Hope it helps
did you check the battery? Tu get the full charge, the headset red light must stay steady on.
If you get it charged you can pair it: hold power button till the two leds blinks, now scan for bluetooth from PS3 and choose your mic setting.
Other than that I'd call madcatz technical support.
