I have a 5 yr old hotpoint refridgerator. the freezer side works fine but my fridge side is hot. changed the thermostst but it did not fix the problem

check to see if an internal fan is fitted. This may have stopped/ burnt out. if fan is running try 24 hr defrost.

6 yr old side by side inglis fridge/freezer. water

can be from an obstruction (i.e. food or debris) or incomplete defrost. water forms around the drain during defrost cycle and ices up when cooling cycle comes on. defrost the drain and try installing a heat probe part#819043 made by whirlpool.its a metal rod that wraps around the heater and goes into the drain opening to prevent the drain from icing up. hope this helps.

Fridge running but not cooling

It sounds like you are having a problem with your defrost cycle. If your unit either does not go into defrost, or you have a defective defrost componet, it will cause your evap. to freeze. Hope this helps

If the compressor is not running at all and not cooling or freezing it is most likely that the control module is u/s or that the compressor is u/s. If the compressor is running it ios most likely that the control module and / or the thermostat is u/s, or that the unit needs regassing. Call a service engineer.

There is a little fan that blows air from the freezer side to cool the fridge side. Pull the plug on the refridgerator for over night, long enough to give it time to defrost if there is any, then plug it back in and see ifthe fan is running. If not then it probably needs to be replaced. If it keeps frosting up and stopping the fan then the defrost timer is probably bad and will need to be replaced.
