Docments I had to change to another computer when I installed my printer it does not print any docoments also when I print a test page it just will print the heading. I know it is not my computer because I have printed the same thing from a different printer

Well, if it ran okay with Windows 8.1 until the last month and if it prints a test page ok, the problem is unlikely to be drum wear or wear of internal parts. You sometimes encounter weird streaking effects if the windows are not clean. Normally, if only one side of a page is being printed, parts are worn or the drum need replacing. But your test page prints out. The only thing I can see that would have changed is --Ta da! -- some automatic update by Windows 8.1. Re-installing drivers doesn't really undo any changes in Windows 8.1 itself or whatever you have installed in the last month or so. (Windows 8.1 experts can stop laughing--I am simply making an educated guess.)

If this were a home setup rather than a work computer, I might see what would happen if I returned the computer to a state prior to "the last month or so." If the printer then worked, you would know it was not a hardware problem but rather what had been installed on the computer after that. Is the printer actually using the Brother driver or is it deferring to a Microsoft driver? Just something for you to check in your device manager. If returning the computer to a former state fixes the problem, you may have to test subsequent installations to determine which one troubles the printer, a tedious process unless a candidate springs to mind.

do you have more than 1 printer installed and if so what printer is selected?when it shows 6 docments in the cue what is the printer called in the cue? Try deleting printer and re-installing driver.You could have a corrupted driver.

2. Press and hold the Cancel button ( ) on the product control panel.
3. Press the Start Copy Color button.
4. Release both buttons. The extended self-test report prints.

Firstly we need to isolate the problem, print a demo page from the printer keyboard.

Secondly Print the configuration of the printer. if more than one page prints then its not the printer.

It could be memory problem related, take out the memory sim and clean it.

Remove the driver and get the latest one to install on your system.

If no joy then its network related.

What is your method of connection, parallel port, serial port, USB 1 or 2 ports?

Are you running stand-alone tests to it or are you printing the test page from the operating system? What operating system do you have installed and is the printer and its related software approved for this operating system?

Do you have the correct driver for this printer and operating system?

Can your PC see (identify) that it has a printer attached to it?

Hi there,

• Unplug the printer cable from the computer.
• Unistall the printer drivers from Device manager and also unistall the all the printer appications
• restart the computer
• try to download drivers from the website
• after installing drivers and software it will ask you to connect the printer.
• then you can connect the printer and and try to Print the test page.

what operating system are you using for..
- sometimes its one of the problem when d fonts is small


- use the windows fit to your printer.. can help solve your problem

I shut my computer down unpluged the printer from the back of the computer then put it all back went to look on the computer to check that I had the right printer on the computer that is how I fixed it.
