Broken slider I have a lg chocolate cell phone and when i slid it up it just came apart. can this be fixed i've just brought the phone, not even 30 days only 19 days.

your screen has broken and LCD also has broken that's why your half screen is working and half is black. you have to change your screen and then use your phone again like before

I read that you can rub a magnet on the backside of the slider and it makes the screen turn portrait and horizontal - you can see that when you rub the magnet on the backside. I just rubbed the magnet with the slider open on the horizontal side (only the right side) - if you rub the left side it makes it portrait. I did that a few times and my phone turns horizontal now when I open the keypad slider. It appears to have worked doing this at this point.

Search for "chocolate 3 lcd" on Ebay. For ~$26 and a little technical work you can replace the outside & inside LCD module.

If the actual sliding mechanism has broken, then the phone most likely needs replacement or a trip to the manufacturer. If you have insurance on your phone, Verizon will cover it. Even if you don't have insurance, take it to the nearest Verizon shop.

yes it can be fix, take it to a mobile reapir shop or a professional mobile technician and have them put the slider back on the base of the phone.

HUH?!!?!? ... If you take it to a Verizon corp. store it shouldn't cost no more then 50 bucks to replace so long as it's not liquid damaged and within 2 years of purchase date.

Whoever told you 200 bucks was about to pop open your phone and play bar room mechanic on it. Cell phones these days are no long the "pop open and fix em " types ... You do more damage to a cell phone opening it up and trying to fix anything. Hence why all manufacturers now just replace broken electronics ... NOT "fix them"
