If it doesn't respond when you touch it it is because one of the circuits have failed in the touch screen.
I have recently bought 10 touch screens just for this problem.
if you need more infor or pictures of the new screens just e-mail me

My son spilled a drink and got his nintendo DS wet , it all works but the bottom touch screen. How do I fix it?

Hello!

You will most likely need a new DS touchscreen.

I recommend that you clean the DS immediately. Even though its working now, the liquid could still damage components overtime if not cleaned immediately

DS lite screen

Hahahahaha that is how it works but if you go to the little DS at the bottom of the touch screen and tap it there will be a fixer manual use it and when you are done the system will shut off and just turn it on again and also the touch screen is the most important thing on your ds so keep it scratchless and clean! On some games the top screen is an important thing and somtimes it doesnt show anything

Touchscreen on Nintendo DS Lite will not work, when the screen is tappped with the pen, it will not do anything, can some one please help?

If you have droped it, you probobaly knocked the screen from the touchpad. Dont worry, you can fix this. All you have to do is go into the bottom of the ds with a screw driver. Then move the screen back into place. If your scared you shouldnt be. Its very easy to fix and you wont screw up your ds unless you pull of the sreen but that is very hard to do.

DS Lite bottom touchscreen seems "stuck"

i think you should either get a new ds or tap the touch screen hard. if tapping the touch sreen harder does not work then that means it is time for a new ds.

Touchscreen won't respond

first of all, go to ds settings (if you can) then press the last one at the right. Then, do all the steps. If this does not work then try asking nintendo.

Keyboard out of sinc

Have you tried:

1) Going into the settings and recalibrating the screen. You can access the settings by turning on the DS with no game in, and pressing the tiny icon at the bottom of the screen.

2) Cleaning the edge of the screen with a toothbrush - get the bristles right into the gaps around the touchscreen. Bits of dirt, food, get trapped in there and confuse the touchscreen.

If neither of these work then you probably need a replacement screen. You can get these and do it yourself but its very difficult.

Reseating Touch Screen Ribbon Cables

The cable for the touchscreen is one with 4 conductors that connect directly to the overlay on the face of the LCD. The flat ribbon connector on the main board is quite delicate. The three connectors for the bottom screen are on the right side of the component side of the DS phat board. The touchscreen is labeled P6. On the DS Lite, the connector is closer to the R button.

Good Luck

DS Lite touch screen

You'll need a tri-wing screwdriver, a small cross head screwdriver a new touch screen and a lot of patience.

1) Remove the screws from the botom case, 3 tri-wing, 3 cross head and the battery cover and battery.

2) Carefully split the bottom case and remove.

3) Open the clip that clamps the touchscreen cable from the back of the connector with a small screwdriver, just carefully lever up the back edge.

4) Carefully part the botom screen from the touchscreen.

5) Attach the new touchscreen to the bottom screen.

6) Re attach the ribbon cable to the clip.

7) Carefully refit the bottom case taking care not to break the power switch.

8) Re fit the screws.
