Question about Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) Console

1 Answer

Game corruption got my psp last dec 2007, bought a 4gb ms and converted it to ver 3.71 M-33-2 and put some games in it. at first, it all went well but after some time my saved games can't be loaded anymore so i deleted it. after a while, i can't even open several games since it said it is corrupted. and then when i opened my ms in my psp to play, it said it had no games but i can see that there are ms space consumed. please help. thanks.

thanks for the promp response. i did format it first using my pc then my psp. after formatting it in my psp, there were folders that were created in my ms so i put in some games in the iso folder and tried to play but it didn't work. so what i did is to copy the card from another psp and tried it again and it worked. will there be a chance of another game/card corruption after this? thanks.

Quick question. Is there a possibility that we get viruses in our PSP?

Maybe its loosing its format.. you could try formating the card throug the pc or the psp.. but i am not sure if the psp has that option

if it does, then your psp has some issues with the card reader (something that happened with my camera after being taken to the beach and got covered with some sand, the problem is that it never formats the card and sometimes it stores the pictures in a bad way so they don't work)
so.. if the problem persist, which is very possible, try upgrading it or downgrading it and see how it acts, or just like downgrade and go back to what your normal version to see if the firmware gets installed correctly.. but doing this is really dangerous and can totally brick your PSP..

viruses are programs that can do lots of task to make the operating system runing the virus, to make it so slow or misconfigure everything that will make it unusable.. so.. if i knew how to program, and i am willing to make a virus to cause damage, then yes.. there can be viruses for the psp.. but i haven't heard of a virus on the wild killing psp..

and bricking a console (like the psp) is to make it as useful as a brick... a concrete brick...

You most likely have lost all info on the psp, I suggest that you put your psp memory card into the computer and try to retrieve all info you possibly can. You will have to format the card and then put all your info back on.

PSP can't read my memory stick and LAN light is flashing.

is it just the one movie that wont play or have you tried music and game saves?
a few things to check
1 is the memory card showing magic gate supported
2 check if the card shows 15.?gb with nothing on it
3 try loading the card with 15gb of music and pictures

i bought a 16gb pro duo memory card from ebay that was a 4gb card showing in the psp as 15.4gb but corrupted every thing after 4gb.
if you also find that the card is only taking between 4-8gb of data contact ebay as this is likely a fake card.
