Cleaned my heads and internals with alcohol and q-tip and blew it out with compressed air( LIGHT PRESSURE) approx 30 lbs press. works great.

Camcorder video head required cleaning because gray lines come in playback when video head got clogged/ dirty.
Put video head cleaning tape and playback it as per instructions.

The flex wire connecting LCd with camcorder is a problem. Mine was the same then after went black and all touch functions were ok.I changed it by miself it's cheaper, and it's like new DCR-SR32. The wire I got from the repair shop. The nubers are on the flex wire.Good luck

you may have a problem with the heads. try buying a head cleaner. you can buy them cheap online.

I have had this problem myself, and it is nothing more than a head cleaning issue, from my experience. Sometimes, when a head cleaner will not work, the camera requires proper maintenance. The problem arises through long pauses, and over time. A suggestion for better use perhaps, would be to not pause tape for too long when playing back. Based on personal experiences.

Video head is dirty / clogged, please use good quality video head cleaning cassette.

I recently had the same problem. All I did was buy a Head Cleaner, followed the instructions, and now my camera works fine. It only cost me A$12 and I bought it from a shop specialising in digital video cameras. I hope this helps.

the problem is with the video head. either it's dirty or broken. if cleaning tape is not solving the problem then i fear you have to get the head changed. an expensive repair.

tape path needs to be aligned.
