In my task bar, my battery icon has an X through it and it is telling me that my battery is not being detected. I have no problems with the power cord. And I have not had any error messages, I can run my XPS M1330 off the battery. A diagnostic check says everything is fine, with the pc and the battery. What is going on?
Boot to the BIOS and see if the battery status shows normally there. If it does, try uninstalling and reinstalling the quickset utility.
If the battery status doesn't show normally in BIOS then you will likely need to replace the battery.

Better goto a service center or get a similar battery from any of your friends just to make sure it is not a motherboard issue.
