Question about Samsung SyncMaster 245BW Monitor

Syncmaster 245B Monitor Shivering horizontal lines

My monitor has these "dancing" horizontal lines running the whole width of the screen. If I follow one "line" I notice it is gradually moving up or down the screen -soetimes up sometimes down. Each "line" is a distortion between 2-5mm thick. They are very difficult to see against a white background (such as this page on which I'm typing). I've tried different Magibright settings but it makes no difference

    Same problem here.

Thin, horizontal yellow lines across the screen. Very annoying.

Have tried to reconfigure with samsungs natural color pro.

Sometimes it helps to switch off the screen and turn it on again.

I'm using VGA but can't seem to isolate the problem, by removing anything near the cable. Altering the refresh rate gives an unreadable screen with any setting other than 60hz

I have the same issue. I have seen it on two different pc's I think there is a design flaw in the monitor.

monitor changed twice already, my 3rd Syncmaster 245b develops the same dancing blue horizontal lines after some hours of use.

Contrast & brightness set to 50, monitor connected to the PC by DVI-D, resolution 1920x1080, 60 Hz

I had my 245bw for 3 days now and I got the lines today and yesterday morning as I turn it on. They go away if I switch it off and back on but I wonder if this gets any worse with time.

Dead pixel 100% My first 245BW had a dead pixel, exchanged it. This is why you buy these because of the 3 year factory warranty.

Which type of video connector are you using? VGA or DVI?

If you are using VGA, the horizontal line could be due to interference, like from an electric motor (fan) near the video cable.

Other thing to try is to change the refresh rate. In Windows XP: Control panel --> Display Properties --> Settings tab --> Advanced button --> Monitor tab --> Screen refresh rate. The default ot 60Hz for LCD monitors. Bump it up to 75Hz. That could give a clue to the problem or maybe even fix it.

Try getting anything that may have a magnetic field away from the LCD (speakers, phones, any electronic product), does the problem persist?

Solid line completly across screen, monitor is brand new

Your comp's video card refresh rate (in Hertz, abbreviated Hz) may not be totally compatible with the monitor. Check the properties of your video card, and change the refresh rate (you may have to look around for it) to 60 Hz. This is a pretty standard refresh rate that works with just about every monitor. If it's already there, I'm afraid someone else will have to try and help!

Hope this helps, and please rate my answer, good OR bad.

Good luck!
