HI
Decalcifying your boiler: Your boiler uses water that has dissolved minerals in it. Even if it is filtered, there are minerals. Your boiler needs to be decalcified to prevent mineral deposits from damaging it. Why can this damage your boiler? The boilers within these machines are small and narrow and therefore they heat up quickly. They hold a small amount of water (250 ml). Their heating element is in the boiler housing itself. So when you start to accumulate mineral deposit, you take up space. This lowers efficiency for heating. Also the mineral starts to attack the silicone gasket that seals the boiler and soon you have a leaking boiler. Water hardness is measured in numbers from 1 to 4. Number 1 indicates soft water having a few minerals while Number 4 describes water containing the most minerals. Set your water hardness to 4 is my recommendation to keep your boiler in good working order. Descale more often than not enough!
To program the water hardness into your machine, press the scoop coffee button and hold until you get the menu. Scroll through the menu until you come to water hardness. Set your water hardness to the level that your test strip says. Press enter (scoop button). Use the arrows to select the hardness and then press enter. You have programmed your hardness and now the machine will tell you when to descale.
Auto descale: To automatically descale your machine, press the scoop button and hold it down until you enter the menu. Use the arrows on the left to scroll down until you come to Descale. Press enter and the machine will enter the mode to descale your machine. The process takes about 45 minutes. You don’t have to do a thing except mix a full water tank with descaling solution and have a container under the steam wand when your start. If you have a cappuccinonatori on your machine you will need two containers. To start the descaling process, simply turn the steam knob. When the process is over your machine will say “Descale finished”. Remove your water tank and rinse it out. Refill it with fresh water. Replace on the machine and start the descaling process over again to rinse your machine. Go back into your menu and scroll up or down 1 to signal descale and enter. Choose “Yes” and push enter so the machine will tell you when you need to descale again.

On your machine, the leakage is the seals on one of your 2 boilers. One can be fixed the other will have to be replaced depending on which one is leaking.

Have water leaking out of bottom, clear water. Will brew coffee but liquid is reduced by amount coming out of bottom of the unit. Have decalcified and use only RO water. Any ideas?

Is the water hot or cold? If cold you need to check all pipes and their couplings from the water tank to the boiler. If the water is hot, then check all pipes and couplings from boiler to brew unit and steam wand.

WATER LEAKS BOTTOM OF UNIT WHEN IS MAKING COFFEE ALSO, HOW DO YOU DECALCIFY UNIT? iS THERE AN ON LINE MANUAL?

Hi,
Below are solutions for a leaking coffee maker and how to decalcify the machine?
Tools and Materials needed to fix this problem are as:
* White Vinegar * Fresh Water * Volt-ohm Meter * Screwdriver
Step 1 - Clean
If your coffee maker seems to be clogged, try cleaning it with a mixture of white vinegar and water. Assuming that your coffee maker has a 12 cup capacity you will want to use 11 cups of vinegar and 1 cup of water. Fill the coffee pot to the 11 cup mark with vinegar and then fill it to the 12 cup mark with water.
Pour this mixture into the reservoir and turn on the coffee maker, allowing it to run through a brewing cycle as if you were making a pot of coffee. By doing this you will dissolve any build up in your coffee maker. If the coffee maker is leaking because the pump is clogged, then this might clear the clog and stop the leaking. If it has been a while since you last cleaned your coffee maker, you may need to run the vinegar through more than one cleaning cycle to dissolve all of the buildup.
Step 2 - Pump Valve
Unplug the coffee maker and examine the pump valve. If the pump valve is broken or has a clog, then the water will not be able to rise up and flow through the fill tube. When the coffee maker is turned on, the water needs to go someplace. If it cannot flow through the fill tube, then it may leak onto the countertop. If the pump in your coffee maker is sealed, you will need to replace the whole pump. If the pump is not sealed you should check it to ensure it is not clogged with coffee grounds or mineral deposits.
Step 3 - Brew Switch
Examine the brewing switch to ensure that is working. To get to the brewing switch, remove the base plate. Next, you will need to test the switch with your volt-ohm meter. Touch the tester to the RX1 scale. If it reads 0 ohms then you will know that the switch works fine. If it gives you a number other than 0 then it is time to replace the switch.
Step 4 - Tube Connectors
If the coffee maker is leaking or sputtering then you should take a look at the tube connectors. Many times, a leaky coffee maker is caused by faulty tube connectors. If you find the leak is in an elbow, clean the surfaces before you replace it. If the tube connector leaks, replace both the tube and the elbow so that you can be sure the pieces will both fit together properly.
To decalcify, you will be needing a : decalcifying cleaner and A container large enough to hold the same quantity of liquid as your water reservoir
1) Remove the machine's water reservoir. 2) Empty all liquid from the reservoir. 3) Fill the reservoir with warm water. 4) Add one packet of the recommended cleaner to the full reservoir and stir until the cleaner is dissolved. 5) Return the water reservoir to the machine. 6) Turn the machine on. 7) Set the large container underneath the steam wand. 8) Set up your machine so that hot water -NOT steam-will be emitted from the steam wand when the steam valve is opened. 9) Open the steam valve according to the manufacturer's instructions. 10) After all of the decalcifying solution has drained into the large container (within a few minutes this will occur), remove it and discard the liquid that has been collected. 11) Rinse the water reservoir thoroughly and then fill it with the type of water you usually use for brewing. 12) Return the water reservoir to its normal position. 13) Using only water repeat steps 7 through 9 until the water reservoir is empty again.
I hope the above helps....
Good luck.

Water leaking out the bottom of the coffee maker

If it leaks DURING brewing, you may have to decalcify it (aka, run through a cycle of 4 cups vinegar, fill to the top with water, 2-3 times and see if it helps).
If it leaks before you even start brewing a pot of coffee, something is broken on the inside of the coffee maker, and I would recommend contacting Waring--they may be able to get you a replacement coffee maker (and if you're under warranty, usually a replacement would be free!).

Their phone number (according to their website, www.waringproducts.com ) is 1-800-4WARING (1-800-492-7464)

Good luck! :)

What does Decalcify mean?

You can download the manual for free. Search for the manual.

If you want to decalcify, then you need to get decalcifying solution. The button with two circles is the decalcify mode. Press that, and the unit will go through it's automatic decalcify. There is a specific procedure to best decalcify superautomatic machines. Please search for that.

After this is done, the decalcify message will not appear. It is on a preset schedule, not an actual measurement of how much scale is in the machine.

Although you don't have to decalcify, it is recommended, especially if you live in an area with hard water.
