If your Sansa player is freezing, not charging or not turning on, the first thing to try is a reset of the unit. This will normally clear any temporary condition that may cause the player to freeze or not shut off completely, it's a bit like when your PC crashes and you need to re-start it to clear the error. Try charging overnight. Then do a 'reset' by holding the 'on' slide up for at least 20 seconds. If that doesn't work, connect it to a computer with the USB cable and see if the computer 'sees' it as a drive. If none of that works then contact Sansa. Pray it is in warrenty (1 year). Sansa will replace defective players in warrenty but has NO repair option if out of warrenty. I've had two players just quit working (no power at all). One started working again for a while. I was able to replace one (in warrenty) the other is out of warrenty. Seems Sansa Clips have either a battery defect or more likely a connection to the battery/power circuit that breaks. No user fix I've found. Good luck.
On your sansa, go to "Settings" then System Settings" then "USB Mode," then change it to MSC, if that does not work, try the other modes, just in case. Hope this helps!
You can set the timer under Auto Power Off and Sleep settings to turn off the Sansa
®
player automatically when it is playing for a certain time.
1. Press Menu button to return to the Main Menu.
2. Move to Power and select it.
3. Select Auto Power Off or Sleep.
Sansa Clip Player has some problem. I tried 4 sansa clip players (I purchased at Best Buy for Thanksgiving), and none of them work. Dont even try to exchange them, just return them back.
