Here is what you can do. You need to access the setup page of your Dlink Access Point.
1. connect a computer directly to the access point (via ethernet). Then assign an IP address on the computer (IP: 192.168.0.10 Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0 DG: 192.168.0.1 ). It is necessary for you to assign an IP address because your access point does not have the ability to assign an IP address to the a computer, its is not like a router.
2. After you assigned an IP address, you can now access the Dlink Access point's setup page. To do that open your browser in the address bar type
http://192.168.0.50 (this is the address of your access piont) and it will ask you to put a username and password. Just type admin for both username and password field. And it will take you to the setup page of the access point.
3. To enable a wireless security, just click the tab on the left hand side that says Advanced, it will populate the options under Advanced and select security. On the main screen you will now have an option for security modem, you can select wpa-psk, then on the Key box you can type any password that you want (8-63 characters). Then click update there at the bottom of the page. If you also want to change the name that the Access point is broadcasting you can go to the on the left hand side that says Wireless and put any name that you want on the box that says SSID. After that click updat button again.
4. Now after updating the settings, You can reconnect to the network. And this time you will now be asked for the network key. Just type your network key. That's it.
