As I understand it, you replaced the switch in your fan that controls speed?

Is this new switch an exact replacement from the manufacturer?

You should have one wire going in and one wire each for how ever manay speeds your fan is suppose to be. 4 wires for a 3 speed fan, etc.

And you say you followed the instructions to the letter?

Please recheck your connections. If you continue to have this trouble, you may have a faulty switch.

It seems you replaced the old switch with a single pull single throw switch or you did not install it correctly..

Ceiling fan stuck on low

in order for the remote control to work properly the fan has to be on its highest speed using the pull chain ... after setting the pull chain in the proper position you can tie up the chain or remove it to prevent others from changing the setting .. the remote will control the speed from then on ..

My hunter remote control ceiling fan doesn't go real fast. the highest speed is what a normal fan would do on medium. is there a fix?

if you have pull chain switches in addition to the remote control, your pull chain switch may be set to Medium, which would make the fan run on a maximum of medium speed.

Fan speed too fast

Is there a light switch control or just straight power to the fan? They do sell "Fan" controll switches just like a regular dimmer, but for a fan. If there is just straight power u would still be able to install a remote that could lessen the speed. Even if it is just pull chains. the remote would have three speeds and if u kept the pull chain on low, maybe the low remote speed could work.

Hampton Bay 54 In. 5-Blade with remote control at wall.

1. Set the remote to run the fan on high.
2. Pull the fan speed chain until the fan reaches high speed.
3. All speeds should work normally now.
The remote is modulating the maximum speed as set by the pull chain.
