Help me!! My Sansa was messing up, I deleted everything on it and tried to format it, it wouldn't let me do that because there were files on there that i was unable to delete.. NOW i've given up on that, i just want my sansa back, and I can't even re-add what i deleted because it says the files are in use, which their NOT. I'm so frustrated because I am pretty knowledgeable about this stuff. Theres a file on there (on the cpu only, not the sansa) called "WILDHO" haha I think its a virus? Please tell me what I can do.

All I got, as far as instructions, was a copy of pages 3 and 4 of the owners manual. I want to know how to delete either individual songs or all of the songs so I can start over.

It is difficult to explain not knowing exactly what I'm looking at, but I have the feeling that the files that are locked on the Sansa are probably marked "READ ONLY." I am unfamiliar with your exact player -- But I know the one that I have (A Sansa Express) allows me to look at the files in a directory format like a disc drive. If you are able to do this, look at the file in question by choosing the "properties" tab while doing a right mouse click. In the Attributes section, are you able to change these parameters? I'm only speculating -- so don't hold it against me if I'm wrong.

Sansa E260- Cannot delete songs/ won't respond to modified files.

In order to sync the files with media player the device must be in MTP mode MSC mode is used for drag/drop file updating. try setting MTP and then sync it or just open the drive file in my computer in either mode to update the file list.

Erase everything from my Sandisk M230

Hello!

Im affraid to answer this question. because i only gain' thanks for trying" but its ok.

In your case , If you want to delete all files in your sansa, maybe you can delete it by formatting your sansa disk. You can find maybe the format on the menu and select format the disk(something like that.) Or you can connect the sansa to the computer and delete all files in there. You can browse your files in the my computer and select the drive created by computer when the sansa is connected.

You should not use a program to manage your music on the Sansa Shaker. Just use My Computer to manually drag & drop files onto the device. Also, you can format the device thru My Computer, right click on the device and select format, this will erase everything on the device. Best of Luck

HOW DO I FIX THIS PROBLEM?????

I had the same problem with mine. I messed around with it, and now it's working again. Here's what i did. Try this, and let me know if anything happens: Take out the battery. Plug the mp3 player into your computer, without the battery. Find the MP3 player under "My Computer." Right-click it, and click "Format" After formatting, leave it plugged in for a while. Add a song to it, then unplug it, and turn it on. Hopefully, the song will show up. Hope it works! -Yockub
