There is no filter in the unit. Try taking the laundry out shortly after the cycle is done. Leave the washer door open if you can. A cycle with bleach may lesson the problem but again you will need to leave the door open.
The machine retains a small amount of water due the nature of its work. If your water is mineralized(hard) it will contribute to the problem as will leaving the laundry in the machine for a prolonged period of time.

I would try to run a cycle with a very strong clorox solution through your washer. It may be the easiest way to fix that.

Thanks, hadn't tried that yet. Did do: wiped inside drum clean, scrubbed crap off door rubber, always leave door WIde open, often do extra rinses, NEVer leave clothes in after wash, checked drain hose for clogs, and all small animals in the house are accounted for!
Didn't think there was a filter-- everyone else said their front panel comes off, but this one doesn't have that. Have done all the other stuff -- leave door open, never leave clothes in machine, scrubbed rubber on door, wiped down drum inside, checked drain hose. Next step will be some Clorox. Thanks for your response, 'ppreciate that.
And thanks for your response, too. Clorox is next on my list of things to buy!
