Unplug tv and let it set for a couple of hours. Remove the back panel, the fuse is located somewhere near where the power chord comes in. Remove fuse and replace with one of the same rating.

Something in your power board is drawing too much voltage causing your fuse to blow. Best bet is to replace the board.Something in your power board is drawing too much voltage causing your fuse to blow. Best bet is to replace the board.

You should try looking for new power supply module. It may be cheaper that trying to have it fixed. Do you have any pictures. Hope fully the surge did damage the controller board.

Sometimes a power surge will blowout a part inside the tv. If your lucky it could be a fuse which sometimes needs to be soldered to remove and replace. A little experience is required there. A lot of power surges will take out can capacitors on the power board. Some times the board can be replaced or possibly replace some blown caps. Definitely need a TV tech to look at that.
Hi Dfhamilton,
Damages due to lightening surge can go to any extent in a tv set. If you can, please open the back cover and check the fuse. Replace with the same rating one if you find it blown. Switch on the set. If it works, enjoy watching. If it blows again, please consult some TV tech.
Good Luck.
Unless you have electronics repair experience, you will need to replace the power supply. If you do have some repair experience, I would check for any shorted diodes, bridge rectifier, switching mosfet, or a cap on the primary side. Replacing the fuse will not solve your problem.
It can be affected due to current surge on the line, the most probable affected area is the power section of your TV. Some incidence are only fuse blown out where you can replace the fuse with a new one just be sure that the rating is the same. But others are major components like MOSFET, Thyristor, Varistor which are usually sensitive on current surge.
Look at the power supply module, most of them will have a surge protection devices (called MOV, same as used in common surge power strip but cannot handle big surge that power strip can handle) installed to protect minor surge, it should blow the fuse. Once MOV blown, it will more likely stay short circuit, if you put the new fuse in it will blow the fuse right away. You need to see if the MOVs blew up any sign of blown up components.
Power failures can cause all types of problems, have you firstly checked the fuse in the mains plug? If that is ok then it may have blown an internal fuse in the power supply board, these are there to protect the rest of the circuit from power surges.
My ilo Does This Every time We Have A Power Outage Did You Reset It????? Unplug The Tv And Hold Down The On Off Power Button For 30 Seconds Then Release And Plug It Back In And Check.
