My electric frigidaire dryer has stopped turning and will over heat. what could be the problem?

Hello Scott Joseph Brandt - Since you have already replaced the thermal limiter check your breaker or fuses. Some dryers are run by two separate fuses, one for power and one for heat-ours is. If it is not the power source more than likely the issue lies with your heating coil.

Your machine may have a feature called wrinkle guard or wrinkle shield, which basically keeps tumbling the clothes without heat to prevent wrinkles from setting in. Turn that feature off and see if that does the trick.

is the heat working?when the dryer heats up and then the heat will shut off then the timer advances,when the heat turns back on the timer stops,heat shuts off the timer will move again,if the heat is working you could have a bad timer
