Question about Microsoft Windows 2000 for PC
Until now I was the only user in my computer and I didn't need to use any password, but I remember that I did store one for the admin when I installed windows XP. My roommate asked me to use my computer and after he messed up one of my files I decided to add another user and to block the access to some of the folders. Everything went great and I created the User, changed the folders setting and the way you login to my computer. When I did restart I have 2 users, but I forgot the admin password and I can't login with my user only the new user I created. I can't change anything because the new user have limited access. I can't believe I did something so stupid, please help I am desperate. First off im only 17, but im pretty good at computers. My principle gave me a computer, windows 2000. As soon as i turn it on i have to type in a password ..i guessed it and by george i got it. When i thought it was all good, i later found out after trying to install my camera and dl msn that i had limited previliges.*sigh* I tried everything. i tried guessing the username and password, i asked my teacher, he said the administrative password was "Administrative Password"..but that doesnt work either. Ive tried encrytping the passwords on a disk. But that hadnt worked either. i cant get into anything to try and change the password because, yes i have limited access.. And my last resort is right now..im looking for stuff on the internet..ive tried finding the chuse, some thing where you find the script and type this: *securityRecoveryUtility.bat -r * and apparently it ables you to recover/change your password..But i cant find the bin where it is either. HELP!
Well you got the right idea but the wrong tools and method
Download Hirens boot disc from www.phazeddl.com
Boot from the disc
that has all the tools you need to reset passwords, change passwords or anything of that nature, even recover files, its a computer persons dream disc if you ask me..
