The A6XX series is prone to stuck shutter problems, particularly if the camera isn't used very often. Lens lubricating grease can coagulate on the shutter, immobilizing it. The symptoms of a stuck or "sticky" shutter are very similar to CCD image sensor failure. The camera may take black pictures (for shutter stuck closed), or the pictures may be very bright and overexposed, sometimes with lines, especially when taken outdoors (for shutter stuck open). To confirm a stuck shutter, put the camera in any mode other than "Auto", and turn the flash OFF (you don't want to blind yourself for the next step). Next look down the lens and take a picture. You should see a tiny flicker in the center of the lens as the shutter opens and closes. If no movement is seen, then you likely have a stuck shutter. If so, please see this link for further info and a simple fix that may help.

If you can check previous pics and menu settings there, isn't a problem with the LCD screenviewer; sound like a problem with the CCD Image Sensor problem.

Check the link and keep us updated.

Hello

If you can view the pictures previously taken with the camera on the camera LCD, but the new photos just come out black, this is most probably a blown ccd.

This is a expensive component to replace, and you will also need specialized equipment to do this yourself.

I would suggest that you take your camera to your nearest repair shop and let them test the ccd.

Hope this can be of help.

Kind regards
Andrea

Display screen is not showing up

There is a setting which controls how long the picture you have just taken will be displayed on the screen. Maybe adjusting this will help? I hope so.

CANON POWER SHOT SD750 DOESNT TAKE PICTURES BLACK SCREEN

Mine started working again. The only thing I can attribute to it is that I zoomed the lens in and out several times. The next time I turned it on, it worked. Go figure. I'll update if things change.

The shutter of the camera is not opening that is why every picture taken is recorded black. It is a mechanical problem and probably has nothing to do with the sensor. Not very expensive

Very, very dark (almost black) lcd screen, but is functional

The LCD viewer is made up of the LCD screen, and the backlight. Your backlight is burnt out, or the circuit board isn't sending power to it. Backlights can be replaced separately.
