Is it every single disc you have or only 1? If it is every single disc then your disc reader could be dirty or dusty. If it isn't every disc you need a new disc. Try DVDs as well. Make sure to try 5-10 other discs. If you play one disc way to much and the system does't get proper cooling you can actually burn the CD sometimes. It is very very rare but it is a possibility. If none of these things solve your problem then you need to look into a new console because it means you disc head reader is shot and needs to be replaced but that costs twice as much as a new 360 elite.
1, the disc may be dirty 2. the mian reason for this your xbox drive
cannot read the disc , because the power of the lens is gone(not
completely) ,
solution:
1. keep your disc inside the drive
and switch off the console, again swith on try this 2 to 3 time 2.
keep the console in vertical position or little slanding position(180
dg) make sure it does not fall
3. its better to buy hatddisc and
load the game inside it , so that u lens life increased
Open up the DVD drive, clean the laser lens with a Qtip and alcohol, push the laser lens cradle next to the center (spinner) and lastly dust off the insides of the console. This works all the time. I've done this more than 10 times on different consoles.
its is a software problem in the system and needs to be updated as the syytem can from time to time become corrupt and will not read game discs best thing is to check the microsoft xbox site for any updates for the software to solve this problem or send in for repair if unable to update
It may just be that your dvd drive's laser is dirty (idk how) but thats what was wrong with mine. It would say that there way no disk or that my 260 games were dvds, then I took it apart and cleaned the laser. That fixed my problem so it might work for your system just google "how to take apart 360" and you should find some guides of taking it apart. Anyway hope this helps!
