When camera is turned on nothing appears in the screen

Hi Tammy,you plug your camera up,then turn camera on,then it should load and a screen will appear and click on import pics,then after it does,then another screen will appear and click the choice you want.

You may need to replace the batteries.

slap it into the lateral face , force the lens while turn on the camera, pressing OK while turn on the camera, it is risky but if you dont want to go to a shop camera you have to take this risk

Looks like a CCD image sensor failure a common fault in digicams these days. Point the camera somewhere and blindly take a shot. Open the image on your computer and see if it appears all dark. If it does then its an image sensor failure. On the contrary if the image appears properly then your LCD screen is the culprit.

have you droped it lately? or its had a hard knock?
it could be the lens is not fully open? or a setting is off?

This indicades the lens motor/gearing is damaged or worn. Nothing for you to do except contact Sony Chances are when you see the price of a 'repair' you will opt for a new camera.

i got my camera a couple of mounths, but i have not used it alot. When i turn it on, the start up screen wold come on but e18 would come up on the screen and nothing would happen after. i desperately need your help to fix my camera. thank you.
