I can hear the CD turn in the system but nothing works. No sound, no lights nothing. I opened it up and as far as I can tell everything is hooked up. The previous owner told us it worked fine untill he had a light replaced in the dash. I don't know much about car stereos so I could be missing something. It is a Pioneer DEH-P85DHR. Thanks

could have faulty starter or starter solenoid.hook test light make you a test light with longer wires and 12 volt bulb with socket go junk yard find good bulb with socket.hook test light to starter and see if test light lights up if so your starter or starter solenoid has a open winding. if test light dont light up could have blowed fuse to transmission neutral switch or neutral switch could be bad.try to start vechicle in neutral if vechicle starts your transmission neutral switch out of adjustment or neutral switch faulty check make sure wires going to neutral switch is damaged.
make sure the speakers and everything are hooked up correctly and try to use the different functions if you have an aux cord use it with an mp3 player or ipod and see if it will play music if you've already done that well then i dont know what to tell ya
Hello. There are a few causes for this. I will list acouple solutions for you.
1. Reset the Video Output Settings. While the PLAYSTATION 3 system is in standby mode (red light on the front of the system), hold down the touch-sensitive On/Off button on the front of the system until the system goes into standby mode again . (So the light cycle would go from: red light to --> green light --> then back to red light) This will ensure that you have held down the On/Off button long enough to reset the Video Output Settings. Once you turn it back on, it should work fine.
2. Make sure the TV is on the correct seting. i.e. Video 1, Video 2, etc.
3. If option 1 does not work call Sony because the video out chip has blown or come unsoldered.
There isn't an inbetween on sound. You either get nothing or you have something going wrong with your wiring some where. Have you tried hooking a speaker up directly to your cd player? Sounds like you have a speaker grounding out. Some times it's better to just open up your dash and unplug everything, (remove your fuse from the fuse box for your radio first). Start from scratch, if you have RCA's electrical tape them and any other metal components. That will create a grounding problem.
Hope this helps!
when you switch the unit on make sure that you hear two clicks, this will tell you whether the protection relay is working. Should you hear the two clicks this will indicate that the audio ic`s are working. There are fuses inside the main component box, four on the transformer. Let me know the outcome
Do the headphones work in the same input where you are using the speakers? Open the Control Panel and Sounds and make sure everything is turned reasonably up and not muted. Also, in Device Manager you might right click on your sound card and try "update driver"
