Clean the lens. Use only a special CD lens cleaner and follow the instructions carefully. If that seems intact, (and you feel comfortable doing it) check the traverse assembly (the metal rod that the laser travels along and the gear that drives it) if CDs aren't recognized or won't play, frequent skipping occurs at random, CDs randomly get stuck in one spot, the player can't find tracks correctly, or cleaning the lens doesn't work. Dust and lint may be interrupting its function.
If that doesn't work then have the laser-head assembly checked by a repair person if the traverse assembly seems intact and free of debris.

On playing a store bought cd, left front speaker doesn't play, but right front does, currently there are no rear speakers all wires are connected through the wire adapters to hook directly up to the...

if its working with the radio the fault must be the cd part of the radio hence take it back after testing different cds, home made cds may not be compitable with unit

CD player not working correctly

Try turning off the radio and disconnecting the battery for 1 min and then reconnecting the battery. Turn on the radio and see if that reset the radio so you can get your CD out and try cleaning the CD player with a cd player cleaner. Note you have to make sure the radio is off before you disconnect the battery. Good luck and hope this helps

Only door speakers have sound on the cd mode

the amp requires a 12 volt power constant, and a 12 volt "on" signal. you prolly have the 12 v "on" hooked up to the car stereo's antennae remote, meaning your amp gets power when the radio is on, cuase the radio is sending a signal to the amp (thinking that it is sending a signal to the antennae to raise)

you do have one of those collapsable antennas, right?
