Plug off the wall; open up behind. Possible some spring hs come off or a shock absorber is faulty. Can be easily fixed by you. You might have to take the top off.

How to fix off balance spin cycle

Run a cycle with 4 hand towels in it. If it still does it, the balance dampers or springs are broken, or have become detached.

How you get to them depends on the make and model, top loader or front loader.

Could be bearing failure. It's quite common in front loaders.

Could be an out of balance load or a mechanical problem with the machine but need to know if it is a top loader or front loader and what make and model it s.

Makes clicking noise spin cycle

it may be any part of the balance mechanism under the machine..remember if you did not balance (level) it prior to installing, it has to self level on its own..this usually calls for some noise in the linkages when spinning..

MY SON LOADED A LARGE AMOUNT OF CLOTH INTO THE WASHER AND WHEN THE SPIN CYCLE CAME ON THE WASHER STARTED MAKING A HORRIBLE BANGING NOISE. it does not look like the springs are broken but the washer seems...

I'm suprised the unit was not able to spread a large load around to balance the drum. Maybe some item bunched up and made one side heavy. For a front loader, a proper load is just about all you can cram in there dry. You'll notice when the clothes get wet, they take less space, and when they are spun, there should be lots of room in the middle.
