Java Virtual machine has failed to load/install correctly. Just completely uninstall java, then go to http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp and choose JAVA OFFLINE for your computer. (the offline is the entire package. thats a more reliable install).

get current PS update when you turn on system - if the update doesn't automatically load - go to system - system updates - follow instructions on machine.
Newer versions of Java does not work on Pelco dx2000. You have to use Microsoft's VM version of Java, which is no longer offered by Microsoft, but you may be able to find it somewhere. current Java (from Sun) needs to be uninstalled. this makes the computer compatible with DX2000, but not the Internet as is it today. Kinda sucks, eh?
