I am using my daughter's old phone, a blackberry curve. She has customized it and I can't find the profiles icon. I need to get out of vibrate and put on a ringtone

I request you to remove the battery when mobile is turned ON and wait for few seconds re insert the battery then check your able to see the profile icon

  • In the profile list, click Advanced.
  • Highlight a notification profile.
  • Press the Menu key.
  • Click Edit.
  • Change the notification profile as desired.
  • Press the Menu key.
  • Click Save

The profile icon might be "hidden", if so, press the "menu" key on the BlackBerry then chose "Show all", this will show all the hidden icons.

If not, try to go to "options", then "profile". If that is not there...

Try to reset the BlackBerry by taking the battery out...

If that doesn't work then you need to reload the OS on the BB... (hopefuly you won't need to go this far)

Hi there

Turn on your BlackBerry. Press the "Menu" key to go to the applications page, and scroll down to find the "Profiles" icon. Click the icon to enter the "Profiles" options menu.

Scroll down and click "Advanced."

Highlight the active profile and press the "Menu" key. Click "Edit."

Click "SMS Text." Change the field next to "Ring Tone" to your desired text tone. You can also change the volume and vibration option of the text message alerts from this screen. Press the "Menu" key when you are satisfied with your changes. Click "Save."

My BlackBerry Bold 9000 speaker/ringer is not working. I could only use the vibrate profile in order to find out that I have a call.
ive had customers with same issue...try there, go to options, themes, press the app menu key and click on reset default theme and remove the battery for one full minute...tested if it doesnt work it might be the speaker thats stoped working

To silence your device
In the profile list, perform one of the following actions:
• To receive LED notification only, click Quiet.
• To receive vibrate notification only, click Vibrate.
• To turn off all notification, including notification profile exceptions and LED notification, click Off.

    Speaker phone wont work
    Firstly, you need to check your profile settings for the phone. You can do this from the homescreen it is the megaphone icon.

    Scroll to the bottom for advanced, and then edit the active profile - From the list opt for phone and check both in and out of holster settings - Which should be ring & Vibrate for phone.

    Let me know how you get on with that.

    Does not vibrate
    As dijikul suggests it could be a hardware fault or profile settings. If you check your profile settings, by going to profile, scroll to the bottom of the submenu and select advanced.

    In the next menu - select your active profile and edit select one of the features you would previously have associated with the vibrate function and check both out of and in holster settings for vibrate.

    Missing "profiles" icon on my BB 8310 curve
    In the main screen, before you enter the menu, if you scroll the joystick to the up, you reach the upper profile icon. But to get your old icon back, maybe it's been hidden and you only need to go to your main menu, press the menu button again, and you should see the "Show All" option, if it's selected you can unselect it then you can go back to main menu and you'll see the hidden icons in grey color. When you come over the hidden icons and press menu button, you can select to hide or show them. And when you do the "Show All" steps again and select it again, this time you'll hide your icons selected as hidden.

    Not Vibrating on Email Receipt Only
    Go to profiles, and scroll down to advanced.  Make a new profile and then choose which things you want tone/vibrate/nothing.  Once you name and save your new profile, select it, and youre good to go!

    Blackberry curve vibrate doesn't work
    well you may need to replace the ********..or flash the OS, it would be best to take the phone to your carrier or repair shop and have the phone looked at.
