Trying to install memory card tried to format and received this message on my Kodak CD33 FILESYS ERROR e00100
Although you haven't stated the make, model and capacity of your memory
card the information in your question suggests that you have used the
wrong memory card.
The CD33 is compatible with SD memory cards but not with the later SDHC models (the HC means High Capacity). They'll fit into the camera just fine as they have the same shape as an SD card, but the CD33 chipset is incompatible at the basic hardware level and cannot format SDHC cards.
To complicate matters further, the original SD specification allowed up to a maximum 2GB, and this was later extended to 4GB but hardly any SD devices can use the 4GB cards without a firmware update. No firmware update was ever released to allow your camera to use 4GB SD cards. Your camera was also designed before 2GB SD cards were available so whilst it may be compatible in theory it was never tested with them.
I'd recommend that you stick to 1GB maximum SD cards unless you use a Kodak branded 2GB version: Kodak's website claims that your camera should work with their own brand card of that capacity, so if it doesn't you can claim on their warranty for a refund or maybe an exchange for two 1GB cards.
If all this is incorrect and you're using a regular SD card of no larger than 1GB then you either have a faulty card or a faulty camera. The only way to find out will be to try a new 1GB SD card from a major brand name. If the camera proves to be faulty then it's beyond economic repair as labour costs for diagnosing the fault alone will exceed the camera value.
I hope this reply has been of assistance and ask in return only that you rate my answer.
Your memorycard might not be compatible:
Memory card support : SD/MMC up to 1 Gigabyte
Hi there.
Is there a small "button" on the side of the card?
If so slide it to where it can slide, it is a lock so you will not by accident erase material on the card.
Iceman.
