I lose my audio often for non-hd channels with dish 622 dvr

My dish 622 dvr is connected to pioneer a/v receiver. I keep losing the audio for the non-hd channels .
If I disconnect the hdmi cable (connected to the receiver) and plug back in(or reboot the dvr), the audio is back again.
I am trying to understand what the problem could be.

The problem could lie in youir HDMI cable, this is a common issue. if you swap HDMI cables and still have the same problem then bypass your A/v rec and connect your 622 direct to your tv and see if the problem persists, it it does, then your DVR needs to be replaced, you can call dish for addition troubleshooting if it is in fact your DVR.

Dish HD-DVR connected to a Denon 3808ci via an HDMI cable. Problem is periodically, the screen goes black for a split second and then comes back. Rewind and play again the blackout doesn't repeat. When...

Your'e losing digital data from Dish or the DVR. Since even live TV is through the DVR it is always a potential problem when anything glitches. That it doesn't repeat on immediate rewind/playback says the data made it to the hard drive ok.

The Denon is only defaulting back to an analog audio feed upon loss of the digital (preferred) one.

If it affects the video AND audio simultaneously the cause is something common to them.

I'd look at HDMI cabling into the Denon from the DVR.

Don't blame the Denon just yet.

My $.02:

I'd skip the video right past the Denon to the TV/Monitor even if it means using component cables instead of HDMI, but keep digital audio coming in from the DVR. Added cabling and connections never improve anything. Plus, HDMI cables are expensive.

It would be interesting to see if the problem comes back and affects only the audio or the video.

If you use optical cable make sure it has smooth flowing curves and no small-radius bends that would lose light power.

My 622 DVR dual (DISH ) receiver has lost 3 local channels in a row ( SAT 61.5) . Connecticut 7385,7386,7387 - (ch 20,24,26.) Other tv's/ HD box and old 310 box converters work fine. I have unplugged,...

Hello, my name is Daniel Busa with Dish Network customer service. Whats probably causing the issue would be that either you're not getting high enough signal strength on the 61.5 satellite. Otherwise there could be an issue with the box if you swap it with another reciever in the home, and the issue follws it you'll need a new box.

My dish DVR HD control doesn't work

lumaes200,

You have indicated that you have a 622 DVR receiver, since this is where your posting was found. When you trying any of the DVR functions on the remote, do you get an error message (024 or 311) indicating that the function is not available at this time? If not, try unplugging the receiver for 10 seconds from the electrical outlet. This will reboot the receiver and re-acquire the satellite signal. Once the picture returns, try the DVR function. If the problem continues, please call 1-800-333-3474; we may need to replace the receiver. I hope this helps.

I have two vip 622 in my house and with one i can watch hd channels on both tv 1 and 2 but on my newest one i can only watch hd channels on tv1 and on tv 2 it says looking for satelite both have identical...

You may have a bad port on the back of the receiver, a cut or disconnected wire somewhere on that side of the system or a bad diplexer if the system is not straight wired to TV2.
The easiest way to verify whether the port on the receiver is bad is to connect that line directly to TV 1 off the back of the receiver. Remember to place TV one on the CHANNEL TO CHECK IF IT IS GOOD. If you have picture then you have a bad diplexer.

Hope this helps. Thanks for using Fix Ya.

Dish Network VIP612 DVR - unwanted "Info" screen

The problem has nothing to do with the television. To fix it, simply change the remote address. The directions for this are in the Dish manual, or you can check it out on the website here: http://tech.dishnetwork.com/departmental_content/TechPortal/content/tech/receiver/622.shtml

Hope this helps.

Connecting a Dish 622 Receiver to the HTR500 and a Sony HDTV TV

I haven't researched to actual manuals for your equipment, but I'm guessing that the optical may be disabled when the HDMI is used. You could try using the component video outputs to the TV and then the optical to the Onkyo.
