Toshiba dlp My toshiba dlp rear projection tv 46hm48 had a mark on the lower left hand corner. My wife thought it was a smudge and tried to clean it. The spot grew and now there is a large spot on the bottom of the screen with a shadow around it.

Is it possible that the screen could have "peeled"? I opened up the front and can see an almost jagged "shadow" that is discolored on the inside of the screen.

Toshiba 46HM95 Screen?

can you feel if the surface is rough has it been cleaned with an abrasive cloth like a scouring cloth used for dishes as this will scratch the surface of the screen try getting a good polish spray on but dont spray to much on and use a soft cloth ideally a proper duster cloth see if they polish out if not the the screen surface has been scratched this can be polished out but you will need to get a pro to do this as doing it your self could ruin the telly permanenty as this is a delicate job to do hopefully you should polish these marks off but if not i would get somebody out to look at the telly to get the scratches polished out of the screen this should not cost to much but will save the frustration of watching a smuged screen the only thing you can do yourself is try polishing the screen properly in case she cleaned it and the cleaning product is still on screen if not you will need to get the screen profesionally polished goto a tv repair shop and these should tell you who to call hope this is some help to you but their isnt much you can do yourself

My grandson spilled some water which got into my mitsibishi tv and created a black spot in the lower left hand corner. How can i fix this?

Take it apart and clean the dried water spots off. Its hard to say if it will work but that's the first thing I would try.

Hazy yellow spot in the left lower corner of the screen

It could be a cob web inside the tv or something laying on one of the guns, like a dead bug. If it's a cob web, you should be able to move the tv a little side to side and see it change from the moving air current. I would remove the back and vacuum off the lenses of the guns and look for cob webs. It's safe to touch and clean the lenses, just don't touch any electronics. If this doesn't fix it, it's probably fluid starting to cloud up in the guns or IC chip problems.

Smudge marks???

If they are grease marks you can use a warm water a soft cloth like a t-shirt and little dish washing liquid. Gentley wipe the area only stroking down or up--- NEVER SIDE TO SIDE---. Have a dry cloth ready if you drip water down the screen. Now if those are scuff marks, your done, they cannot be removed. They are like the old record albums with the grooves, once the grooves get distorted that's it. Good luck.
