I have a similar issue as "Alan" 11/1/09. No blinking green light or display for the longest time, then it finally comes on. Hold in the power button, count to 30, sometimes it will start blinking... just push the button, nothing. Am I on the brink of losing it altogether? Otherwise, great picture...when it comes ON! Can you advise?

Brinz97, Yes, to your ?.. Do this first!! Turn it off and subin a working monitor. Place 940MW in safe place! Now check to see if it is still covered by Samsung warranty. The next thing for you to investigate will be YOUTUBE!! If you haven't been there yet, you sure are missing a ton of stuff on typical repairs of lcd monitors!!! Only you can make the decision to spend $12 and fix it yourself or $40-$100 to contract out the work! A very good clue was when you stated "great picture...when it comes on" !! This leads me to believe that a simple repair to the "switch-mode-power-supply" is all that is needed. It could be as easy as resoldering 1 "frosty/cold" solder joint or replacing 4 to 6 "electrolytic filter capacitors" that have failed prematurely!! To view some of these goto www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm or any of the sites that deal with BAD capacitors. Here is the advice you need. I say "If you are able to effect a repair for less than $15, then also think about getting a new one also with the $ saved!!! Then you will also have a working SPARE unit on-hand. If you need more help get back here to fixya with another post to your original. or [email protected] I'm 12fixlouie

Sony kds-rx60xbr1 red light blinking turn it on and off and tv goes on

The lamp for this model number is XL-5100
Before ordering the lamp, I would inspect the inside of the TV, be certain that the three fans are clean and free from dust. Often if a fan does not start the first time it may start on a restart. Due to the nature of televisions operating, dust seems drawn to these TV's. Cleaning the fans might correct your issue.

I have a Mitsubishi WD-62525 HDTV that suddenly wont turn on. Just has a green blinking light when you hit the power button. Any ideas?

I found this on another website, most likely it is your power supply capacitors.
  1. Press the "reset" button and hold for 10 seconds .... Does TV turn on and blinking green light turn to solid green.

  2. Unplug the TV from it's power source for various times, ranging between 5 minutes and 24 hours..... Does blinking green light continue upon plugging in the TV.

  3. Disconnect ALL devices from the TV; DVD, Tuner, Cable Box, unplug the TV for various duration times .... Does blinking green light continues upon plugging in the TV.

  4. Press Power and Menu buttons simultaneously and hold depressed for 20 seconds .... Does blinking green light continue to flash.

  5. Press Power and Display buttons simultaneously and hold depressed for 20 seconds .... Does blinking green light continue to flash.

  6. Insure that no front panel buttons are inadvertently stuck in an "engaged" position.

Diagnosis: If none of the above test resolve the issue, then the failure lies in one of the following:

  1. DM Module Capacitors have FAILED.
  2. DM Module is defective.
  3. EEPROM Board failure
  4. Power Supply failure.

TV DOESN'T TURN ON AND BLINKS RED LIGHT 5 TIMES

Please follow up with me if you get any type of sound.

I had a similar problem. I had a 52" RCArear projection tv. It would do this when I initially turned on the television, but then after a few "on/off, on/off, on/off" cycles it would stay on. Eventually it started doing it more; until finally there was a spark and that was it. The tv was dead. The bloggers called it "the blinking green light of death" (because of green light on the panel). The power board is going out.ALSO holding down the Input and Menu buttons afterward will give you some diagnostic information via 2 sets of blinking indicator lights.

You may very well have issues with capacitors on this set being that it is or very similar to the V26 chassis. Since I have spare test lamps laying around, I would normally try that first. If the lamp still would not stay lit, I would then suspect the electrical chassis (capacitors). When I suspect the chassis, I can usually verify it by pulling it out and partially disassemble it and find blown capacitors

I hava a i850 -- when I turn it on and it goes thru its set up then the amber light comes on blinks 7 times stops then blinks again 7 times -- cannot stop it -- also when I open it the print head stays in...

Hello.

From Canon:

Probably your waste ink counter. Should be cleaned or replaced before resetting but usually you can get away with resetting once.
1. Start with printer OFF
2. Hold down RESUME and then hold down POWER
3. Release RESUME
4. press RESUME twice, then release POWER
5. let green light blink until printhead has finished moving.
6. Select functions below with RESUME, execute with POWER

0 presses - green light - Test Print
1 press - orange light - EEPROM info print
2 presses - green light - EEPROM initialise
3 presses - orange light - reset waste ink counter.

Hope this helps.

Smart UPS 1500 - battery level green lights blink on and off

You need to run recalibration on the unit.  The supplied PowerChute software & cable will allow you to do this if you hook the UPS up to a PC (I know it works with the serial cable, not sure about USB).  If you only have a MAC then I cannot offer a solution other than to buy the standalone PowerView device from APC.  It will cost a bit more than a battery, but may save you from buying needless batteries in the future.  I finally broke down an bought one, but note that I was still having the problem after the 1st recalibration.  By trial and error (and maybe a vague memory) I put my MAC in sleep mode, that dropped the load to stop the lights from flashing.  Then I recalibrated with a 22% load and now it finally seems better (lights no longer flashing).  This was with a Smart-UPS 1000.
Let me know if that helps.

Display gone, no longer functioning

Green light but no display- most likely main transformer is gone (60%), 35%- blown main fuse, 5%- bad display or power supply. You are lucky if unit is still under warranty. Solution- repair shop.
