Most likely your objectives are misalingned. Tighten the objective wheel, that usually solves it.

One thing you left out - this only applies to CRT monitors, LCD's are completely...

The discoloration problem is due to the near by magnetic field appliances like speakers which are very near to monitors ...
so what you have to do is just keep some distance to the monitor from the speakers and other magnetic appliances and then press menu button & just give degauss..

What is the meaning of the word observe

In reference to vehicle care maintenance, "observe" means looking for something that was not there before. For example, as you pull into a parking space, you "observe" the pavement was dry; but when you return later, you now "observe" there's fluid beneath the engine area. Conclusion -- a cracked hose connection or brittle gasket sealant needs to be replaced. Another example is when you "observe" a condition that was not present before. For example, you're driving along and suddenly hear a noise that was not there before. Conclusion -- a nut or bolt connection had come loose from both, engine vibration and the vibration as the vehicle travels along rough uneven pavement.

How to troubleshoot a microscope having uneven brightness in the observation field?

uneveness of of brightness in the optical field of view (FOV) can be caused by a number of variables, but often times is do to miss alignment of the condenser. Typically when this is the problem there the "hot" (brightess area) will be shifted to one corner or another in the FOV. There are usually some sort of adjustment screw underneath the stage that will allow you to do the alignment. It is easiest if you close down the iris on condenser and adjust the height of the condenser until you can see an octagonal shape appear, then center it in the FOV.

If the uneveness is equally the same throughout the FOV then it may have to do with the position or the height of the condenser. Generally speaking the lower the magnification, the further the condenser should be away from the slide. The condenser narrows or broadens the light allowing you to fill the entire FOV of the objective.

Depending on the quality and the level of the microscope though, you may find that no matter what you do at lower magnifications you can do very little to improve this. I see this a lot with LED models. The dispersion pattern of an LED is much more focused then a halogen, which is GREAT for higher magnification, but often times manufactures will upgrade from halogen to LED an never change the optics of th collector lens and condenser to flatten out the illumination better.

Would you please advise how to adjust the brightness settings.when i go to the menu button i can get the various settings but i am unable to make any changes.please advise. thanks

Hi; the upper part of your keyboard closest to the screen or the last row of keys contains a BRIGHTNESS key...

Press and hold the Fn key (usually italic and purple color) and press the Brightness (sometimes depicted by a bright bulb) key and observe if there's a change in brightness...remember to hold down the Fn key while adjusting the brightness. I hope this helps since you did not mention computer type or keyboard arrangement!

My picture brightness is uneven - there is a persistant bright field on my screen.

I have the exact same problem with my AE700. It a started about the same time, around 2500 hours for me. I lived with it untill I could afford a new bulb which arrived yesterday. The old bulb was still working at a 3603 hours when I installed the new one. But the new bulb didn't fix the problem for me either. I may try to take it apart this weekend and give it a good cleaning. Andy
